We are bracing ourselves....:O
Since last Sat. we have had 20 inches of snow fall. I live in the Coeurdalene area. My dad just called me from Vegas with nws of another storm and one right after that that will drop another 20 inches. Just North of me about an hour North, got 2 ft, and 3 and 4 ft in some areas. Here is the article.

Roof's are collapsing everywhere, there are accidents all over. Since I have everything I need in case the power goes out, I am NOT leaving my house. I feel sorry for my husband out there building in this stuff.
This pics are out my front and back door.

We don't really have any snow left, it keeps snowing a whole bunch, then warming up and raining and then snowing again... However, we have the following warnings issued in our area for tonight (everything in Km and Celcius):

AN AREA OF RAIN DEVELOPING OVER LOWER MICHIGAN THIS AFTERNOON WILL MOVE NORTHEASTWARD TO REACH THE CORNWALL AND EASTERN OTTAWA VALLEY LATE THIS EVENING OR AROUND MIDNIGHT. THE PRECIPITATION WILL BEGIN AS FREEZING RAIN THEN CHANGE TO RAIN WITHIN 2 TO 4 HOURS AS THE COLD AIR IS SLOWLY SCOURED OUT. WIND WARNING.. A POWERFUL COLD FRONT IS NOW RACING TOWARD SOUTHERN ONTARIO. THE FRONT WILL REACH THE WINDSOR AREA BY MIDNIGHT..THE TORONTO AND HIGHWAY 400 CORRIDOR AROUND 4 AM..AND EASTERN ONTARIO AROUND DAWN WEDNESDAY. BEHIND THE COLD FRONT A VERY STRONG BLAST OF COLD ARCTIC AIR IS EXPECTED THAT WILL CAUSE THE TEMPERATURE TO PLUMMET SHARPLY. WESTERLY WINDS WITH GUSTS TO 90 OR 100 KM/H ARE EXPECTED WITH GUSTS AS HIGH AS 110 KM/H IN EXPOSED AREAS NEAR THE GREAT LAKES. FLASH FREEZE WARNING.. THE COLD FRONT THAT WILL SPAWN THE HIGH WINDS WILL ALSO CAUSE TEMPERATURES TO RAPIDLY PLUMMET FROM VALUES NEAR +5 TO +8 TO VALUES OF NEAR -10 OR LOWER. THIS DRAMATIC TEMPERATURE DROP WILL OCCUR OVER ALL OF SOUTHERN ONTARIO. THE FLASH FREEZE WARNING HAS BEEN ISSUED FOR PLACES WHERE CONSIDERABLE WATER IS EXPECTED TO BE LYING AROUND FROM MELTING SNOW. BLOWING SNOW WARNING.. THE STRONG COLD WESTERLY WINDS WILL BE ACCOMPANIED BY EXTENSIVE FLURRY AND LOCAL SNOWSQUALL ACTIVITY WHERE THEY BLOW OFF THE GREAT LAKES. THIS WILL CAUSE EXTENSIVE REDUCED VISIBILITIES IN BLOWING SNOW. PLEASE REFER TO THE LATEST PUBLIC FORECASTS FOR FURTHER DETAILS.
I'm going to miss the warm weather.... It was nice running out in just a sweater today...
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
Thanks Everyone!!
Hey Pat, I will box some up and send it to ya!!:P
I love the snow. I just hate it when the really bad storms hit due to the danger of it. I will probably take the kids out sledding tomorrow. My daughter is ready to go skiing again lol.
It is very beautiful though!!
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
Batten down the hatches and stay safe girl! Also if you're boxing that stuff up, please send a box to my daughter. lol. She's trying to get us to move back to Memphis because it doesn't snow enough for her here. (the funny part is that only snows about an inch there, which only lasts a couple hours  )
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
Thanks Christie.
I will have to pack some for her lol. Although she may be a little disappointed when a leaky box shows up with a puddle of water in it:)
It finally stopped snowing for now.. there is another storm coming tomorrow though. Thats supposed to be the big one. Which is kind of scary considering the last one was the biggest we have had since the ice storm in 96.:O
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
We have some crazy winds and weather coming in here too. We had temps in the 40-50 today (NOT normal for western NY in January!) and it melted much of the 2 feet that we got last week. Now I am dreading tmrw.. I hate blowing snow. It is 1000x more dangerous than plain falling snow.. it creates whiteouts where you can see nothing at all.
I wish I had the luxury of staying in during this junk. My 15-min drive to work will seem like an eternity.. but you know, we are getting off very easy this year. We have had 6-8 foot drifts on the roadsides a few years ago.

Nah, she's one easy to please kid. ;) She'd just splash around like crazy, and then try a 'sperrymint' (expermint) to see if she could put it in the freezer and turn it back into snow. She's just too funny.
What time tomorrow does the storm hit you tomorrow? We're in the 60's today and the 50s almost all week. I LOVE the south. :D
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
i love snow i wish we got some but i was in oregon in the beginning of january and that had like 3 foot when i was out there so i was happy
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
Just thought I'd let everyone know that we made it through the last really big storm. That dropped another 9 inches on us. We got another 5 or something yesterday, and its still snowing today. Roads are a little better.
They have declared a State of Emergency. They even had inmates out there digging out houses.
We do have another scary threat now though. Flooding. We have been in a huge drought for a long time, enough snow fell in December to bring us out of the drought. So now we have all of this snow for January and when it melts we are in trouble. We live close to the river:O The intersection by my house already has several feet of water in onc spot.
So yeah, we will be bracing ourselves for not only more snow in the next few days, but also flooding.
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
Wow. Not much snow here, but everything is under an inch of ice. I had to literally pound the ice off of my jeep this morning. It just would not scrape off.. Now I am in the city at my mom's and just spent an hour shoveling ice off of her front porch, stairs, railing, and driveway. And it'll probably all be back in a minute. Gah.. should've stayed at work!
Kristy, please give us back our normal winter weather! Snow, we can deal with. But this..
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
I will send the snow storms your direction:)
There is Ice all over everything, except its under the snow. The first storm that came through it snowed a bunch, then rained, then snowed. So it froze. Shaun spent two hours yesterday breaking 4 inches of ice off of our front porch, and the wall outside our front door. The over hang outside where the rain gutters are is completely covered in ice, and the gutter is a solid block. So all the water pours down over the front and its like an ice castle lol. Its such a pain. My dryer vent happens to be right there, so when I do laundry it melts the ice enough to break it up and shovel it away. So that makes it a little easier.
Re: We are bracing ourselves....:O
Oh man; I am sorry about your situation :( I dealt with 2 inches of ice here. 4 inches.. wow, that is unimaginable!
