herping in my kitchen??? New buddy!
I found him in my kitchen this morning... Not quite sure what I'm going to do with him, more than likely my collection just got an itsy bitsy bit bigger. Oh yea... He's a little testy.

no joke... I mean... I plan to do some herping on my doorstep in the next couple of days... but those come in comfy boxes. I wasn't expecting to find a little milksnake while reaching for a pot to make my dora the explorer spaghetti'os.... sheesh.

I was JUST noticing your cool avatar, Ben...then saw this thread. How cool is that??? Such a pretty little noodle!

As for locality...you're still at College Station, aren't you? (If I remember right?) If so...I guess just figure out which ones are local to South Texas. Unless, maybe, he's someone's escaped pet?

The link didn't show Texas ranges... so my guess is that he must be a pet of someones that got free... and judging from a couple minutes of googling I "think" he's a Sinaloan Milk Snake. Although certain, I am not.

I know its not a sinaloan, I had a sinaloan (actually nelsons) and it does not look like one to me. To me it looks like an arizona mountain kingsnake.

well see... glad I wasn't certain! lol

EDIT: It does sorta look like a arizona mountain kingsnake, although it has very thin black lines. Maybe it's just one of the "individuality" things.

The only snakes I find around here are copperheads and I tend to give them their space. I want to go herping in my kitchen and find an adorable snake like that. Think all I'll find in my kitchen is cobwebs and a itty bitty spider or two.

Sure looks like a pyro to me. They're great snakes and one of the prettiest too.

Try him on pinkies in a week or so but he may hold out for lizards. Mice are much easier to get out here so that's what I feed mine.

    Cool find.

I wouldn't anyways... talking to my ex girlfriends, retired marine sniper father about why I left her would be FAR more interesting... :fork:

on a more on topic note... I was taking a closer look at the snake earlier today and noticed that one of his stripes only crosses halfway over his back... and so his name is "Joe" because he ain't perfect, but I love him anyways!
