Re: 18 babies 8 eggs
I cant see the vid cuz Im at work and its blocked but WOW thats crazy. Ud have to have at least 6 sets of twins and 2 sets of triplets. Ive heard twins isnt that uncommon but triplets, amazing, didnt think 3 snakes could fit into an egg. Hope they all did ok

Re: 18 babies 8 eggs
Wouldn't it be a bad idea to start yanking the hatchlings out of their eggs before they come out, especially with special twins and triplets babies?

Re: 18 babies 8 eggs
Isn't it possible that the snakes hatched...got startled and crawled into a neighboring siblings egg? And then the video maker removed the empty eggs trying to fool the viewer...
Just a thought...I've heard of it happening with other pythons.;)

Absolutely. They need to absorb the yolk from their eggs during the hatching process. To remove them would cut them off from the nutrients they need to survive as hatchlings until they start feeding on their own.

Re: 18 babies 8 eggs
well the way hes pullin em out so comfortably leads me to believe that he has already removed them from their eggs at some point. i bet there were 18 eggs and he just doubled and tripled a few up.

Yeah, it could easily be faked.

Re: 18 babies 8 eggs
I've had 3 sets of twins in a 5 egg clutch of ball pythons, so I know it's not impossible in a clutch as large as retics have. Unfortunately for me only 1 set of twins hatched and only 1 of those babies lived. The other two eggs I opened up after the other eggs hatched and found dead twins in both eggs.

That is awesome. You can see some yolks on some of the babies. Looks real to me.

I can also say the video is 100% real. A friend of mine was working there when those hatched out and told me about it.
Also, it is a bad idea to remove babies from their egg, but if you notice all the person in the video is doing is pulling them out a little bit for the video. They were not completely removed. Also, the person pulling them out of the egg is probably the owner, who has probably hatched out well over 2000 retics. So, I'm sure he knows the limits better than the average person.

Ah, well then I believe it's real and he certainly has more experience than I with pipping babies. Just seems harsh, hehe...=)
