I won't be doing any crosses yet this year, but hope to cross with pastels, lessers, and cinnamons in the next three or four years.

Soon... Soon.... :bow::please:

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
addsdad, that is one beautiful reduced pattern woma!!!!!!!!!!

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
Thanks. I think that Womas are underappreciated. I think that they should be gaining in popularity though when people really start paying attention to the crosses they produce. I am very excited for the lesser/woma combo. I also can't wait to someday do the cinnamon/woma cross. I don't think that I have seen that combo yet.

Great lookin' Womas!!! :sweeet:
Here's a pic of our '06 male we recently picked up from Tracy @ VPI. I haven't taken any pics since we got him, so I'm posting the one from VPI's website with Tracy's permission.
Thanks for looking.

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
Really Nice Womas Guys!!!
I'm surprised more people here aren't working with them...Another one of those subtle Morphs that have some great Combo potential.
-
Re: Post Your Woma Pics
regarding lesser x woma crossed...I don't think all of the combo will be soulsucker. I remember last year I saw one guy's selling lesser x woma and it's nothing close to NERD's soulsucker. Hidden gene, any opinion?
-
Re: Post Your Woma Pics
I had one of my Champagne's locked up a adult Woma female two days ago. She shoudl go this year.
You are right not all of those Lesser to Woma breeders are going to make the soul sucker. Must be another gene in there. My guess yellowbelly.
Brock

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
So NERD's site shows the soul sucker as well as the woma lesser platinum. Their site does indicate a third "secret ingredient" in the soul sucker. I think that NERD's woma lesser (not the soul sucker)is sweet by itself. This is what I would love to make in a few years.

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
So edumacate me...what's the difference between a woma and a nicely banded normal? I've seen some woma's that have funky head patterns, but plenty of other stated woma's that just look like bandeds.
Also, why is it called woma? Always confuses me when I see people talking about womas cuz I first think of woma pythons. :P
-
Re: Post Your Woma Pics
The Hunter's guide sticky at the top of this forum has good information on woma's.

A nicely banded Normal won't make Pearls, Soul Suckers and other wild combos...lol
Kevin named them after Woma Pythons...

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
beautiful animals. i was wondering home much babies run price wise. i do not very often see them for sale. i see bandeds off and on but i cant remember when i saw a woma and what the prices were. males and female if you know. thanks.

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
I do like many of the woma crosses. Here's a pic of my wannabee (woma X spider X pastel):
https://ball-pythons.net/gallery/fil.../adults057.jpg
She is 2 1/2 years old and setting at about 1200 grams. I love the brown of her markings (instead of the traditional bumblebee black) and how she has stayed so high yellow.

Hey Brock. Hope the weather is treating you well . . .
Here's a full body shot - not the best of lighting but I think you can see the details.

Thanks Jon. I was hoping she would get up to size this year but I don't know now. Maybe she'll go late - keep your fingers crossed for me. The wonderful part of this is trying to figure what I will breed to her . . . any suggestions? Maybe my super pastel, or lemon blast, or BEL butter, or . . . . ever tried a square with a triple morph? :weirdface

Thanks! She had been a bit of a picky eater, but I think we've solved that issue. I can't wait to start breeding her.

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
Alice I love her. That snake has tons of potential that only your BEL could exploit! Hopefully she goes for you this year.
Oh and the weather is great! We were at around 5 degrees last week with a -10 wind chill. It sucks because I have tons of shipping to do. Things coming in and going out! Today is the day for shipping. I have something new that I am sure you are going to like.

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
Thanks Nate. I bought him from Ballistic Morphs in Colorado. His father was a woma and the mother was a possible fire. They are going to try to prove this over the next few years. They sold him to me as just a Woma with the idea that it may carry both the woma and fire gene. I am really crossing my fingers that they are right and that is why he is lighter looking.

A Double Co-Dom at the very least...Lemon Blast, Pewter or if you have something Double Co-Dom that doesn't have the Wanna Bee ingredients...
I think anything you breed to her will be hot, Good Luck!!!

That would be sweet to get a fire woma for the price of a woma. Hope it proves out for ya.

Sometimes it takes a while to find the exact example of a morph that meets my "gotta have it" criteria. The wannabee went off the charts. :)

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
There were some questions on this thread reguarding the soul suckers and how they are produced. Well it is not your average woma used to produce themm, infact it is not a woma at all. It is a totally seperate morph called the hidden gene woma.
On two occasions NERD missidentified this morph as a woma, but when bred it produced incredible combos that the original woma is not capable of producing. So even though it has the name woma, it really had nothing to do with the woma except a similar pattern.
Some other morphs using the HG woma are: inferno, enchi inferno, angel of death, HG woma champaigne, red spectrum, and of course the soul sucker.
I have a HG woma/Granite/YB and will post a pic of it when I get off work.
-
Re: Post Your Woma Pics
So here is my Hidden Gene Woma Granite YB female I pirchased from NERD. So basically she is an Inferno minus the pastel gene. The pastel gene really adds to this snake making the insane colors you see on the Infernos.
If I cross the Hidden Gene Woma Granite YB female with a Pastel I can get Infernos. If I cross a Pastel Lesser with her I can get the following: Soul Suckers, Pastel Soul Suckers, Infernos, Red Specrtums, and the other stuff like Ybs, Pastel Ybs, HG womas,Pastel HG womas, etc.
From what I have been told is that the HG woma, granite, and YB genes all want to piggy back to one animal. Making it really easy to reproduce the triple gene combo. Infernos are 1 in 8 on the odds, with four genes going to one snake.

Re: Post Your Woma Pics
MKHerps what combo makes the Angel of Death? What are they crossing the HG Woma Granite YB to?
Thanks
-
Re: Post Your Woma Pics
The story I got from NERD was that they crossed an Inferno(HG woma/granite/yb/pastel) to a wc female that they think or though was a Specture(het SuperStripe). If this is the case and that female was a Specture then the Angel of death is basically a SuperStripe Inferno.
The Red Spectrum is a Lesser Inferno. I am not 100% sure that the Soul Sucker is just HG Woma x Lesser. Nerd took a HG woma x lesser and bred it to a weird WC female and out came the Soul Suckers 2.0. So there may be something else going on with that WC female that caused the difference you see in the Soul Sucker and the WomaxLesser animals you see on Nerds site. By the way most of the crosses on that site involving the woma are actually HG woma crosses and Nerd just had them labled as woma crosses. You will not get animals of equal apperance and color when using a regular woma. If you take a woma and cross it with a lesser it will not look anything like the animal pictured on Nerds site, instead it will produce snakes closer in appearence to LesserBees.
The HG woma stuff is very strange and confussing. When Nerd figured out they were different morphs, they should of changed the name and dropped the woma. Leaving woma in the name cofusses alot of people. Very few people are working with HG wonas, maybe less then five in the US. I know of four people, and NERD just recently started selling snakes in this project.

I just LOVE this line of womas, the colors are gorgeous. I picked up the whole project with a male, female, and a normal female with high blushing--she keeps throwing womas that look just like this. This year, I'm keeping all the girls and one boy (provided I get them), lol.
