Anybody else into hognose?
How many of you own any western hognose?
Any of you breed them?
I sold off my ball pythons to concentrate more on hogs. Not that I had many ball pythons. I was going to use that money to invest into my hog projects but it went to bills last year. Oh well.

Re: Anybody else into hognose?
Hi Louie! I really like ball pythons for myself, but I really love that hoggie you have. I know nothing about them though - is it an albino?

Yes, it is a "regular" albino. There is a few other morphs that I would love to have in my collection.

Back when I was a kid, I did summer stints at the local nature science center, and the hognose was my favorite. Sadly, the kingsnake escaped and we never saw the hognose again. :(

Fingers crossed here also :gj:
Re: Anybody else into hognose?
I'm extremely into Hoggers! When I'm older, I might try breeding some. What some people say on this forum is true: "%90 of colubrid care is the same". But Hoggers are not part of that %90. Not at all. They have got to be one of the most exotic colubrids around!
Re: Anybody else into hognose?
Oh yeah, do Hognose snakes have their own exclusive morphs? (like BPs have "Piebald" and Corns have "Butter")?

Hogs have the Pink pastel albino, hypo, axanthic, lavander, lucy(not available for trade or sale) and of course the albino. these are at least the recessive morphs I can remember off the top of my head.
Re: Anybody else into hognose?
I love my little hog! He's a normal western (part cobra;). He is a lot of fun for sure. He is very well behaved in hand.

Agreed.
Re: Anybody else into hognose?
So good of you to chime in with your knowledge. Why don't you list all the different kinds.
Re: Anybody else into hognose?
I breed hognose snakes... Love them! :)

They have Axanthic? My favorite BP morph is Ax and I never knew Hoggers had it too! I'm sure it's new as well as expensive though :(.

You would be correct on both!
