    opinions please!
Ive been looking at animalplastics.com and i think thats where were going to get our rack from. my question is, would i be better off getting the iris bin rack, the sterilite bin rack, should i get back heat or belly heat? I know for a fact we will have at least three balls, should i get a six bin rack or seven, huge difference in price for one extra bin (i want room to expand of course)? at least that would give me a limit lol

    what are castors?

this one seems to be the best bang for my buck.. anyone agree?

Belly heat is the way to go, I would also recommend Iris tubs, they are better quality and do not have ridges like the sterilite do, making them easier to clean.

Get the biggest rack you can get because I bet you that you will fill it up ;)

I just bought the iris cb70 rack from animal plastics. With that one they recommended the radiant heat tape that goes down the sides of the rack instead of the back or belly heat. I got the one with 3 tubs. I would have loved to get the one with 6 or 7 but 3 is the biggest one that will fit in my tiny car. I opted for the iris one also because those tubs have flat bottoms with no grooves which makes for easier cleaning. I have not received the rack yet but it should be in by the first week of February.

awesome!! thanks everyone.. i was going to ask whats the difference between the 1756 & 1860/1960... do they include heating or is that at an extra cost? I have to have a limit somewhere Deborah what are you trying to do to me lol!!!

Also, Could I keep a group of hatchlings in a level of the rack too, or could i put the bins side by side in it? (perhaps three smaller bins per shelf)

wow the iris bins are ALOT more expensive! any idea why?
what is the advantage to having side heat as opposed to back or belly

I purchased my racks from Jim Scharphorn. pvccages.com
It was reasonably priced and came with back heat, belly heat was an extra charge.

Castors are the wheels that go on the bottom. They would make it much easier to move. Indirect belly heat I thought was something that was deeper in the shelf so it wasn't right on the tubs. I got the radiant heat down the sides simply because it was what they recommended. I figure any heat option they offer would work just fine.

I got the largest rack I could which was the three tub one. I have to move my snakes around a decent amount when I go home over breaks from school so I needed something that would readily fit in my car assembled. I thought that animal plastics was very good for the price and I have heard nothing but good things about them.

I think a helix, herpstat, or ranco would be fine. I would recommend helix or herpstat because they are proportional but I personally use a ranco because it was cheaper and it has worked just fine for me.

    I have a sidebar question/comment.
I don't get how everyone thinks Sterilite tubs are so hard to clean because of the groove around them. I have a rack w/ 1960's in it and I have no problem nor does it take anytime to clean.
I spray it down let it sit for a second or two and wipe around and poof, done! Maybe it's just me :)

    Re: opinions please!
    so you use sterilite bins??

thanks everyone for all the continued information im sure its going to really help us make the right choice for our animals.. i currently use a sterilite tub for hazard and dont have any problems with it either, although the UTH doesnt have direct contact due to the "bubble" as i call it on the bottom, the hides also lean into the groove

If you have the ability, make one. That way you can make it to your specifications. Also it will be a long cheaper.

If you can't make one, go with Rich. I bought a 4 tub Iris from him with a Johnson. Everything works great!

    Re: opinions please!
I only suggest it cause you could probably build a 12-15 32qt rack for about half the price of a 7 shelf.
