    Scorpion pictures:
I've been keeping scorpions for 10 years, mainly C. exilicauda.. Thought I would share some pictures of the little guys.

Here are some pictures of last years C. exilicauda (AZ bark)

I had a H. hottentotta I was quite fond of, but she died a couple months after I received her.

And this is one of my young T. stigmurus (Brazilian bark)

I currently only have 2 young T. stigmurus, but will be collecting more C. exilicauda this summer, and possibly buying some more Hottentotta sps.

I've only been stung once, and it was from a wild C. exilicauda (never from anything I've owned).. I stuck my hand in a shoe I kept outside and got a nasty surprise! Didn't need to go to the hospital at all, but I did suffer a slight allergic reaction.

    Cool, :gj:
I want to get a hottenttetta specie too, I like their thick tails.

Looks like your C.Exilicauda looks gravid.

I watched your video, what types of scorps do you have?
I loved my hottentotta, she was the most beautiful scorpion I've ever kept, I'm thinking about getting some more once I get more of my tarantulas moved out.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure the exilicauda was gravid, I never kept that group long enough for her to give birth here though

yeah, the T. stigmurus are still pretty small.. they're a little larger than they were in that picture though.. the other 2 types of scorpions I posted were about 3" each with their tails out.. I tend to only keep the more dangerous sps. of scorpions, so they're usually pretty small.. I don't have much interest in larger ones

No common name that I know of, its always good to go by scientific names though so you don't get mixed up in the confusion of common names!

My H. hottentotta was a very beautiful scorpion, you have to be careful with scorpions like this though because their venom is more potent than the more popular larger species of scorpions. I don't believe the Hottentottas have been known to be lethal to humans, but you must use extreme caution when dealing with them.

For me, they are a look only pet. Which im perfectly comfortable with.

For my emp. i dont even hold him, and while some say, "bah its fine if you hold them" id much rather NOT get stung anyway. im sure he is also quite content with that decision as well. ( in his own buggy way)

Thank you for answering my question though, and its much appreciated. As is the word of caution :)

I will definitely look these guys up, more for informations sake than acquiring one any time soon. Post more pictures!!! :gj:

Yeah, these are best to be "look only pets" I will post more pictures of my Brazilian barks as soon as they grow larger.. the color on them is turning out to be really beautiful. Let me know if you have any questions one any of these types of scorpions! They're great to keep if you know how to move them safely for cleaning/feeding.
