Re: Female with eggs
Highly doughtful. You can find breedable females andsome almost ready females though. The fun is seeing a Baby grow and breed! Good luck.

Re: Female with eggs
I know nothing of this breeder or his/her reputation but here is a site I found with gravid WC listings.

Re: Female with eggs
The animals that are being sold Gravid are Wild Caught individuals that have a bit more difficulty adjusting to captivity here in the United States.
If you have the time and the patience, (and experience with BPs in general) to treat a Wild Caught animal inside and out, and feed them African Soft Furred Rats (or not have them feed at all for a while), I would say go for it.
I personally have yet to do it.

You can find gravid females on Fauna !BUT! If you have never had to clean and care for a WC gravid female(I have) it involves a LOT! and then you have to treat the babies for ticks and mites and then....well hopefully that is enough to give you a glimpse of what's in store for you:) Just my 2Cents IMHO- I would go with a CB female that's breeder size and then a male morph:)

Re: Female with eggs
I'll throw my hat in the circle and admit that I am really against gravid WC importing. I won't even buy from a breeder I know participates in it. Call me a snob but it just goes against my moral code. To each his own.

I know if you check on Kingsnake you can find some people selling gravid females. I would recommend breeding your own. Much safer.

Re: Female with eggs
There are people that still import animals, especially gravid females. They will buy a large number, and have several people come and take their pick of the bunch.
In my experience with WC (which is limited, but I do have one) it's a b***** to get them to eat regular rats, but they will. A lot has to do with hudsbandry, and also they are wild animals. Some settle better than others.
It's usually a good rule of thumb to get your feet wet with CB animals, and work your way up from there. WC aren't for everyone, but the very patient and observent and those that will work their butts off for this one snake.

Please take my words as good advice here.If you try to get a "jump start" on breeding majority of the time you will fail.If your in it just for the money then also majority of the time you will fail. Why not buy some nice CBB and go from thier. If you dont have the love for the animals themselves then you are missing alot of the fun in having them.;)

I made the mistake of buying 2 WC Gravids Jan'07 gorgeous animals that threw some very interesting babies.
I will never recommend doing that to anyone after my experience with acclimating them.
They both laid great no slugs and I actually got 100% hatch but.
THE PROBLEMS STARTED AFTER THAT. I have finally gotten them both to take a meal last month. That is almost a YEAR, and I cant tell you how good they will feed in the future or how many years it will take to get them back up to size and WILLING to breed so basically I have adopted 2 headaches but I cant give up on them or pass them on to someone else that is just not right.

Re: Female with eggs
A better way to get a jumpstart, would be to buy some subadult virgin CBB females. Then, once you've had them in your home under the proper conditions, and they've grown a bit, you can go from there.
I would definately get a top-notch incubator set up and ready before you start breeding. From experience a few years ago, scrambling for an incubator for some (then unplanned) eggs at the last minute will mostlikely lead to a bunch of dead eggs.

Re: Female with eggs
I agree with Jen. Buy some 06 females and get them up to size for a possible breeding in late '08/early '09. This would be the best thing for you, then snake and the business.

Since you're relatively new here, I don't know your experience level in keeping ball pythons, but I'm going to guess because you've asked for a way to get a jump start on breeding that you are also relatively new to keeping ball pythons.
If you have not spent at least a year caring for multiple ball pythons and all the things that they can present to you (bad sheds, not feeding, stuck eye caps, etc), then to buy a gravid female, WC even, is a little like going from first grade, straight into college with no experience in between.
Nothing, and I mean NOTHING is fast about ball pythons. It would serve you well to buy some nice CH or CBB '06 females, and spend this next year raising them and maybe even buying a nice male that you'd like to breed to them. Practice quarantine, get your incubator prepared, decide how you plan to house the babies, how you plan to start newly hatched ball pythons feeding, etc. and learn as much as you can over the next year.
Good luck!
