Re: Help me make plans for my rack!
well measure ur tubs, go to lowes or homedepot (theyll cut it there for you if you ask) and then put it together
just have your dimensions ready at lowes or w/e and take your time thinking about it and planning
Re: Help me make plans for my rack!
Here is a great webpage about making a rack using Iris CB70 tubs. Those these are bigger than the ones you're using, it is a great resource to get you started.

Re: Help me make plans for my rack!
im thinking i want it 3 12qt tubs wide, and 5-6 shelves high.
I have dimension! so im good! ill post pics.
Re: Help me make plans for my rack!
I'd make it one 28qt wide, and make it 7 high. The 48" melamine boards will end up being the perfect height. That will hold your 2 28qt tubs and 10 - 12qt tubs (2 per shelf). You'll be able to replace Some of the 12qt tubs with 28's as your snakes grow, and you'll start with a few extra for hatchlings. This is the first one I made and it's the same 28qt - 12qt x 7 high.

HD made all the cuts for me, I just drilled and screwed it all together, ran some heat tape and plugged it into a Helix. It was within your price range. If you go this route let me know and I'll write you up some plans.
Re: Help me make plans for my rack!

I would think so. Measure the height of yours and I'll let you know the dimensions of mine.
Re: Help me make plans for my rack!
Here are the measurements. You will need 3X - 48"x23.75" melamine boards and 1X - 96"x23.75" melamine board. That's $50 total. Take 2 of the smaller boards and make rip cuts at 16.5", so you have your 2 sides (48"x16.5"). I used the 2 scraps from these cuts to secure the back of the rack. From the other smaller board you need 2 cuts at 16.5", leaving you with 2X - 16.5"x23.75" shelves, and 1X - 15"x23.75" shelf. The smaller one has to be the bottom shelf. From the 96" board you make 5 cuts at 16.5", giving you 5 more 16.5"x23.75" shelves and a leftover piece that gets thrown away. Use a drill, tubs, 1/8" spacers and 2" wood screws to space and attach the shelves.

modified them and im ready to pick up the materials!
Re: Help me make plans for my rack!
Got the materials im going with 2 tubs wide. and might i say... DAMN THE HOMEDEPOT GUY! he was an escape artist, he told me that each cut was 50 cents extra and that it would cost alot (didnt have to pay for cuts!)..... It costed 50 for the wood, and i have extra wood! alot. 31 for a 69 by 49. and very good deal on aluminum tape, droor handles, plexiglass 1/8 inch thick (my spacer) ,2 inch drywood nails, and i ended up paying like only 80 including all the other stuff i bought! im so syked for tommorow when i get to build! my snakes are gonna be so happy! i know i am!!!
thanks jake wallace. UR the man.
