    Sweet Equity
I'll try to not drag out this story but it might just have to.. Saturday I was pittling around the house around 7:30 in the morning when I get a knock at the door. Apon answering it I see that it is my next door neighbors son. His first and only words to me "that window is broken" and points at my car :O. I looked and didn't see any busted window. I asked him which one? He then pointed to one of the windows on one of my two garuage doors.
Sure enough there was a huge hole busted in my door window.:mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:

I calmly walked over and asked how it happened. By this time a couple of the neighborhood kids had come over to tell their verson of the story. It seem one of the kids not present had felt the need the night before to bust up a concrete block and see how high he could throw the peices up my two storie gaurage front. Well seems one of his throws didn't quite make the grade..

So I asked where the kid lived and how old he was. He lived two doors down and was 12. So I walked down and knocked on their door (after a shower and shave and getting dressed can't be to scraggly) :gj: No answer..Several hours later I tried again. Yatzee the mom answered. I explained and she asked the kid if it was true. She then asked how he plained to pay me for the window. Having no money she asked if he could work off the debt.

    HHHHHMMMMMMM Work off the debt...

Sure I told her I figured 3-4 hours would suffice and tomarrow would be just fine so as to not interfere with his school work or activities.

Now how do you suppose a guy with 20+ snakes and countless rats keeps a 12 year old busy for 4 hours :P:P:P:P:P:P:P

Oh Yea you guessed it sunday is cleaning day...

Need less to say that is one kid that will not be throwing rocks at anyones house any time soon..

If he gets bit that could backfire on you real fast. I am retired from a gas utility and our meter readers knew that when a dog bit one of them (which happened pretty much weekly) The meter reader could file a lawsuit and automatically get a $3500 settlement from the homeowners insurance company without a fight. Most of them didn't sue but some of them always did. The homeowner then got a hefty insurance premium increase. I don't want to rain on your parade but your insurance company may refuse to insure you in the future or require that you get rid of your snakes if that was to happen. If you don't have insurance such a payment would come out of your pocket.Just be careful.

Very true and as a business owner I know all to well the risks. But the boy will not be with in arms length of any of my snakes...just the poop. I'm not worried about his safety but rather the safty of my animals. :D thanks for the heads up though

I think also that the parents should be very aware that ANY animal can bite. It's pretty ridiculous when we can't even let people in our own houses without worrying about getting sued because someone tripped on the rug.

I think that if anyone gets bit, they have to assume a responsibility towards knowing that there is a level of danger involved with working with or around any animal. To blatantly walk into any situation involving animals seems pretty nonsensical to believe that your always completely safe. It comes with the territory. :/

I'm just happy to hear the kid fessed up...he must have good parents. =)

Shoot, I'd come help you clean up snake and rat poop just to come see your snakes, hehe...nothing can top cleaning up after a 12' burmese with a penchant for bunnies and his water bowl...
