    Amel. motley Cornsnake?
I recently got a Cornsnake, and the store said he was a Amelanistic Motley Corn, but I'm looking at some photos of them, and he doesn't quite match. He has the same patterns, but has blackish eyes, instead of pinkish, and a white stomach...... Any ideas?

since amel is a type of albino i'm assuming they have to have pink eyes to qualify, but i don't know everything about how they work so maybe i'm wrong. i know mine has pink eyes, and everyone i've found pictures of has pink eyes..

maybe you have a different phase motley.. pictures would really help though!

Yeah. I don't have any good pictures yet. I'll try and take some today. I'm still trying to figure out the naming thing. My icon is his tail end, but as you can see, it isn't very good. lol

if he is a baby, some corns do not grow into there full pattern for some time. it takes a couple years to see the TRUE pattern

    correct everyone?

Well, he is definitely a Motley at least. :) As for what else, could be sunglow, could be Amel with really dark oranges.
Whatever else he is, he is VERY attractive. Great little guy there. :)

Hmm since we're on this topic, I figured I'd post pics of my motley corn for comparison.

I figure he is Amel since his eyes are pink?

But then again, look at this:
    http://www.moreptiles.com/sunglow%20motley.htm
    http://www.moreptiles.com/amelanistic%20motley.htm

I'd say BOTH of our snakes look more like the sunglow motley, with yours being a bit darker.

Also, my corn's stomach is half white, half pinkish-orange. Go figure that one out. :P

    Re: Amel. motley Cornsnake?
Yours doesn't look to be an amel motley. The pupils look black, which would make it not amel. It could be a hypo motley, but motley tends to have a hypo effect anyways, and there are motley snakes that are not hypo that look like yours. For now, I'd call it just a motley.

And as a side, you can have sunglow motleys. It has to do with the intensity of the oranges. Really intense orange motleys are sunglow. Regular amel motley: http://www.cornsnakes.net/gallery.php?catid=2&id=20

    Sunglow motley: http://www.cornsnakes.net/gallery.php?catid=2&id=191

And those super sunglow motleys look to be nothing more than just sunglow motleys.
