Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
Regardless if the photos are bad or not, he's still quite gorgeous!
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
Very Nice! Can't go wrong with a handsome pastel.
Cheers,
Kat
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
awesome pastel and love the little blotch that earned him his name. congrats on that pick up and great pics as usual. :D
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
can anyone even tell hes a pastel? His eyes are lighter but the photo colors came out so "normal" looking...hes def. a pastel, just not as bright and yellow as some ive seen lately.perhaps he will look better as he gets older. there is a HUGE difference in color between cameron and ruger in real life
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
Ashley, yes, you can tell he's a pastel. Are his colors pretty orange? That's how it appears in the pictures.
When I chose Winston, I looked for the most faded head that I could and the least amount of orange as possible, since orange tends to really brown out as they mature.
It may be your pictures, but it does appear that he's already got some brown to him.
Congrats on your new boy!
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
Congrats!!!! Pastels are hard to get a color representation from... too much flash, they are washed out... and not enough... well you know! He's a QT :) Love the marking too....
Side question, are you not quarantining him!?!?!
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
He's sweet - Nice pics too...

Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
He is a nice snake! And your name choice.. great minds think alike :D
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
He came from the same breeder Cameron did. He breeds all his own snakes and does not bring any in from other sources. So did I QT him? No, I suppose not technically but at the same time I also know exactly where he came from. To be honest, I hadnt even given it a second thought
He is more orange than yellow. I hope he doesnt brown out too much :weirdface His head was more faded than the other one we were shown (he had two male pastels left) Ill have to take some photos of just the top of his head so you can see.
Jen- We were thinking about calling him...Richard, if you catch my drift but I liked Ruger way more.
:edit: i didnt notice you had a Ruger!!!! oops sorry! I try not to repeat names. Not only a ruger, but a ruger pastel too  i suppose take it as a compliment lol, its a great name

No worries! I named him after one of my .22 rifles.
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
Nice pics! Ruger is looking good!
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
well Jen, i guess thats not too bad.. i had named him for the hand gun, isnt a rifle a large gun? (thinking shotgun here) i have a terrible fear of guns, despite growing up with them in the house. Darren was throwing around gun names and I liked that one lol
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
Aww he's definately a curious boy, I love the face photo. It looks like he will end up browning out a bit but he's got a nice pattern and those eyes will stay light Always makes for a striking snake (no pun intended). I also noticed issues with getting my pastel colors accurate with my Digital Rebel, I had to play with my settings a bit before I got it halfway decent.
Re: Introducing...Ruger DUW
that stinks that he will brown out, kinda defeats the purpose of having a flashy pastel. He is having a problem with gas (had it the night we picked him up and he still has it)
Genetics question: If a pastel is NOT bright will they make more dull off spring?
