I can speak for two of the states you've mentioned. If you head for Arizona...go to Tucson. Absolutely gorgeous city set in a bowl surrounded by mountains on all sides. All the conveniences of a big city, but still a very small-town feel and no other large cities around it. If you're outside of Tucson, you're out in the country and it's very nice. Unlike most big cities where they just sprawl right into one another. It's not as hot as Phoenix and much much prettier.

If you head for Texas, I would highly recommend San Antonio. It's more sprawly than Tucson is, but still not as bad as most big cities. Tons of stuff to see and do around here and only a couple hours away from some very nice beaches.

With hubby in the Air Force, I've lived in a lot of different cities. Tucson is at the top of my list of cities I'd want to live in. San Antonio is second on the list. :D

I definitely wouldn't suggest Florida...I lived there until I was 12 and I had enough of that! Hot, humid and the same scenery from North to South FL. Palm Meadow bushes and ferns are nice and all...for the first 30 miles ;)

I like New England (I live in MA), but I haven't really been West of Pennsylvania (except for Alaska--but we flew in), so I can't speak to those other places. My brother's in Colorado a couple hours from Denver and he loves it there!

Texas heat and humidity is a killer but good to keep snakes in. I loved Illinois but I'm a farm boy so its a good place. I love my town, some of the people are real snobs but other wise its good. Best highschool football is in Texas! Best colleges too. But illinois has the best NFL team though... LOL.

For me it's a toss up. Both are places I've lived.

Whitehorse, Yukon - if you can get past the deep dark cold months, it's simply an amazing place. Scenery that blows your mind - soaking in a outdoor hotsprings in the depths of a Yukon winter while gazing at snowcaps....it's hard to describe that. People that are some of the warmest and friendliest I've ever met and oddly enough the best Greek restaurant I've ever eaten at. An odd juxtaposition....the world's best moussaka and dolmathes in a restaurant next door to a bar so rough they had the tables bolted to the floor and the chairs chained to the tables. That's the Yukon for ya! LOL

Gore Bay, Manitoulin Island - a jewel of an island, small and intimate with a resident deer population greater than the human folk (other than during tourist season LOL) but close enough to Sudbury, Ontario to get away once in awhile. Fishing like you would not believe - Rainbow and Lake trout, huge Chinook Salmon, Splake, just to name a few. Everyone knew everyone and my older kids pretty much ran free there. My soul loved that simple, beautiful place.

Columbus, Ohio... I will never forget that city or how much I loved living there. It has such a diverse culture. The Gallery hops on Friday evenings were great! It helps that it's a college town... but everyone was always so open and nice, too! I like Indianapolis okay, but it doesn't have that same feel.

Prague, CZ... what can I say? There is SO much culture there! Seriously, every building standing has a story behind it. And sitting in Old Towne square sipping a glass of wine, watching the clock tower and the people... there ain't nothin to compare.

I took that findmyspot quiz, apparently I am destined for arkansas, tennessee, mississippi, New Mexico and some good ol Louisiana! But mostly Arkansas, it came up like 8 times lol!

Chris had mostly Texas, but we were pretty interested in New Mexico. All four seasons, mild weather, sounds good to me.

But I had to re think my original response, anywhere in the world? Japan is my top pick. Then Crete, then Egypt. Just for the culture and landscape mostly. I could do without the violence surrounding the middle east. :)

I personally love Florida. After living in Erie, PA for the first 15 years of my life, I know snow and I hate it. The only bad season is Summer, which is opposite in the north(only good season is summer). It is very hot and humid during the summer. It also rains everyday, veyr hard, but only for maybe an hour then it sunny again. In November - April it is 60-80 degrees around 60-70% humidity.

I can't tell you how much I love being able to wear shorts and a shirt all year round. Its all ways nice outside. It is literally ALWAYS sunny. You get maybe 1 day every 3 months where it is cloudy.

I eventually will live in Tampa, which I think is one of the best cities in FL.

    And perfect snake weather.

Also if you don't mind views like this(Taken by me moments ago):

Re: Best place in the world to live
One thing I forgot to mention is that everything down here is a little more expensive. Not Cali expensive, but higher then normal. Ave apartment is usually 500-850 for a 1 bed. 800-1500ish for a 2 bed. Ranch style houses with 3 beds, 2 bath, pool, garage usually run around 150-400k.

    Gas is 3.15.

Average pay around here more then makes up for it. Target cashiers make $9.50 starting, so if you got some good experience and education you could find a great job down here easy, since it is always expanding.

Just in my local area there have been 2-3 new High schools built just to keep up the demands for the influx of people.

And as Nathen said, the drivers are TERRIBLE.....I feel like I am back in Ohio......

Funny you ask that question because I saw in the news a few days ago about a survey that was done in Canada to figure out what city had the happiest people.

    http://www.cbc.ca/canada/newfoundlan...-atlantic.html

My city is #1 BABY! WOOOO! I'm SOOOO happy to live next to a Nuclear Power Plant, and LNG Terminal and a hand full of different Irving Refineries. It must be the Moosehead Brewery that makes people so happy in this city. That or Mr (Oil) Irving paid off whoever did this survery to attract people here.

But in any case, SAINT JOHN, NB is the BEST place to live.
and Moncton NB which is like 1h and 1/2 drive away is tied for 4th, so we NBers must be really happy people.

So come on over to NB and do some whale watchin and eat some seaweed! Then you'll agree, we are the best place in the World to live.

Eskimo is an Indian?? or Inuit. They have brown skin. It's probably from the frost bite but it still looks nice and tan!

Eskimo and Native American are both tan, but we're different races. Just like Mexican and Latina are different. Or Dominican and Cuban.
LOL, I'm not all up on the hispanic differences, so sorry if I made a mistake.

Anyways, it's my understanding that my tribe lived in what is now Yosemite National Park, and parts of central California. So bring on the sunshine!!!

Tuscon is definitely prettier then Phoenix, I have too many in-laws living there though. :O :P I for one am not a fan of Phoenix. This pretty much sums it up for me. It was nice for a couple of years, but before long... ew. I look forward to getting out of here!

My little family's current dream is to move to Portland Oregon. Stuff keeps coming up though, and it keeps looking longer and longer in coming. But we MISS rain. Rain, mountains and ocean both in driving distance, GREENness, all around pretty with lots of artsy communities and the like... Mmm, Portland...

Rain is over rated! Wait till you see the forecast of 80 and thank the heavens, take a shower, and leave for the day to walk outside and get drenched with that muggy air that perpetuates the "green" land and makes you sweat buckets. Give me desert any day!

Ireland - either North or South - I have lived in both.

I have also lived in the US - Nebraska (Omaha), Arizona (Tempe) and Colorado (Denver).

While Ireland will always be home if I was picking somewhere that I have experienced it would definitely be Denver - waking up to see the rockies every day was unreal and being a biker (motorcycle) heading into the rockies on Sunday mornings during summer was to die for!!

I have noticed people taking about cost and saw gas in California at $3.17 - try about $9 a gallon in N Ireland :(

    Connie, what nation?

I have to put in a plug for both NC where I was raised - you have mountains in the west, ocean in the east and if you live in the middle of the state (the Triad - Greensboro/Winston-Salem/High Point area) you are just hours away from both.

I currently live in metro Atlanta - the winters, except for a few shockingly cold days, is mild and the summers aren't all that bad (trying to forget the 100+ degree days this summer) either. And I personally like being near a big city - there's always SOMETHING to do. We're 2 hours from Chattanooga, 2 hours from Birmingham, 5 hours from Savannah and 8 hours from DAYTONA!!!!!!
