I'm not sure- that last picture makes it look like they are.. If so, Congrats :) I put my male pastel in with my 'odd normal' last night.. So far they've just been napping with eachother. lol. It looks similar to the first few pic's you showed, only I can see his tail and it is not locked with hers... **goes and checks** Nope, no locks yet :(

To me it doesnt look like one but he is trying. They could be, but kind of hard to tell. Most of the time there tails are wrapped around each others like this.

I'm not a good judge of locks, so won't dare to say. But I WILL say that's one smokin' pastel! :gj: Very nice!

Yes you do! Nice... Best of luck! Locks arent always the tails sticking up. The last pic posted is a Deffenite lock, You may have caught the beginning or end of this lock..

How many times do they need to "lock" to produce? I have been reading soem articles on BP breeding and they aren't really that helpful. :(

Is there a place that I can go that explains it in detail that is easy to understand?

The last pic, in your first post, is almost definately a lock. Mine will oftel line-up straight as opposed to wrapping their tails areound each other. Looking good! And I would bet the farm that your last pic in the post before mine, is a firm lockup.
