Are you breeding the pastel to the normal? Im guessing thats why theyre in the same cage together bc balls need to be kept in separate enclosures. Also if the pastel is new you prolly want to keep it in quarantine to make sure its not sick for 30-60days. It would suck if it was sick and ended up getting one or all of your snakes sick.

I didn't know you could keep multiple corns in the same habitat? We have a blood red and a snow so be went out and bought another tank heat source and everything. >_<

You're not suppose to. I did the same thing after getting multiple snakes. I got more tanks.

Also.. with it being 3 months since your first one and you have 4 how did you go about quarantining them? I sure wouldn't want my first morph to get sick or get my other babies sick.

Hmm i wasn't aware that you needed to qaurintene the snakes. I bought the pastel off of a local breeder and just figured that everything was ok and ready to go. I am still quite new to snakes and am still learning. :(

the corns should be fine as they came form the same clutch and have always been together except for when i feed them.

No offense but just because they're related and have always been together doesn't make it ok. But to each their own. You should search this site for some info on caging seperatly and quarantining. Just my $.02!

    Beautiful snakes!

Another thing not mentioned here so far is that you should provide each BP with two hides. One for the hot side and one for the cool, that way your snake doesnt need to chose between feeling secure or thermoregulating. What's your setup for your tanks as far as heating elements and temps go?

You will learn a ton on this site, it defineatly gave me piece of mind as a new ball python owner.

right now i just have some tanks with under the tank heating pads. the Temps in the tanks are around 75*. I just bought a 3 - 5 tub rack from an online store, and I am in the process of designing/building a 5 - 9 tub rack.

once i have my racks built I will only be using the 30 gallon tank to display my morph. though I am having a hard time keeping the humidity right in my 30 gallon tank. so I may just sell all my tanks and go with the tubs and racks.

Re: got my first morph. :)
You defineatly want to get your temps up because if they stay in that 75 range their is a good chance your snakes will get stressed out or possibly sick or both. You want a hot side temp of about 90-94 and a cool side of about 80-84. That is the ideal temp ranges for BP's that we all try and maintain here.

Also, tubs are great as far as maintaining proper humidity and temps so the sooner you get that together the better. Tanks are the hardest enclosures to keep proper husbandry in. As far as something to show off your morph look into some of the vision cages (animal plastics, Boafile, Etc.) They are expensive but they are easy to maintain yet they look beautiful and show your baby at the same time.

    Good luck!

OK so If i am using Rubermaid clear impressions tubs that measure 26.5x15.8x6.5 in what size flexwatt do i want to use??

the tubs will slide in sideways. so I think 11" tape would be too much as it would cover almost half the tub, but 4" tape doesn't seem like it would be enough???

These are the medium size tubs. I'll build one for the large tubs eventually.
