I make mine by hand, sometimes fancy if the mood fits me. I'm into scrapbooking and stuff so I have all of those things lying around the house. It's a fun craft project since I only have 2 snakes. You could do it that way.

no i don't, but for me it's as simple as marking on my calendar, "so-and-so fed today."

Dude all you need to do is get a note card.
Write the name of the snake on the top
then make columns with Date, Time, Prey, Ate/Refuse.
    It's thats easy.

I just use 4 x 6 cards. Lined ones, but I end up scribbling on them, since half the time I'm rushing to write the info.
The printed ones I've seen had too small of spots for me to write quickly in(I'm messy).

I also put in who I bought the snake from, for ease of remembering.

If you have a lot of snakes you could make a little holder for the cards. Maybe paint a bulletin board and pin them up. If you guys are looking for craft ideas, that is...

Mine is a chart/table template on MS Word. Basically it has a space for the snake's name at the top with three columns for 'Fed', 'Cleaned' and 'Shed' with rows of boxes under each and a side column for weights. Very easy to put together.

I use the Degei program and just print out all my card. I try to print them all out the 1st of the month. The program isnt that much. Ive been very happy with it. Here are a few types of cage cards and ID cards you can print out with the program.

Im not sure why these came out black and white. When you print them out they are in color.

With me being just a noob... the moment I found out about Degei, I downloaded the free version.

So far, I am incredibly impressed... and will probably end up paying for the full version (mainly to support this great piece of sotware... at $25.. it's definitely not too much to ask). It has really helped keep track of everything and is very easy to work with. And as shown above, the cage cards are really nicely laid out.

All this to say.... Degei ROCKS!!!

I have Degei too and the $25 version is worth every penny and then some. Soooo easy to keep track of everything from feeding to breeding. I would definitely highly recommend it. :gj:

How many snakes must you have for Degei to be worth it though. I have heard if you do not have many many many snakes, Degei is not worth it.

I have a steno pad for each snake and write the dates of 'in blue', shed, prey and size and eaten or refused, and poo, pee and urates. I also makes little notes to remind me who is who, like 'gets emo when in blue', or 'strong eating response'. I just don't have time to input into a computer since I'm always on this forum!

    Thanks for the comments everyone.
To address the "is it worth it" that keeps coming up; that is something you have to decide for yourself. That's why there is a free version. Try it out with 5 snakes.
As for the 5 snake limit, I can't believe people that purchase, house and maintain more than 5 animals, with the costs involved have a problem with the price, but there are plenty that do. Oh well. It's not free to make and maintain.

To answer the question about how many snakes you need to make degei worth while. Thats up to you, it can work just as well with one snake as it does with a thousand. I personally use both index cards and degei. basically I use a weekly card that I use to keep track of the day to day happenings, then at the end of the week I enter all information in degei. I still don't use the program to its full potential but I'm learning

I use colored 4x6 cards, males blue, females yellow. I put all info on the card and if I sell a snake the card goes with em with all their history.
