What Ball python related things did you get for Christmas?

So far ive gotten myself a 06 spider, and ive gotten a 30 gift card to petco from my sister(i get a ton of stuff from a new petco that was currently built right down the street so this helps alot)

I think i might get a few more gift cards.

And if im truely lucky i'll get some frozen rats under the tree this year!!!!:snake:


I also got a breeding colony of rats, not really because of christmas, but close enough:D

a new vivarium, hopefully!!

I can say, however, that my cat and all four snakes have pitched in to get Rick and I gifts. Somehow someone with 4 legs or no legs figured out how to order from Amazon because lo and behold, we have 2 gifts under our tree signed "Love Nikki Cleo Carmen Jenson and Lourdes".

lol, i ask now because some people cant help but get things early. If i wraped up my spider when i got her im not sure if she would be to happy right about now(or alive)

Yesterday I ordered a Herpstat ND for myself from the for sale section of this forum. Ho! Ho! Ho!

I got the VPI book so far :)

My wife got me 5 snake books the "ball pythons in the wild" dvd and an A.P. hatchling rack.

Well, if the little guy makes it, I guess you could call my little rescue pastel a Christmas gift. Even if he doesn't survive, I decided I would save my money as long as I had to to get a nice, healthy male pastel from a good source.

Also, I'm saving the money I got from selling a textbook (I won it in a raffle and ended up not needing it) to buy a nice adult female corn snake at the spring R.M. Reptile Expo, so I guess that could be seen as a late snakey gift. :)

I got my normal ball Remedito for Christmas (& his whole setup, w00). It wasn't ON Christmas.... but I'm not complaining in the least :)

With the gift card i have im about to go out and buy a huge bag of aspen chips, a bag of rat food, and some f/t mice.

Nothing. Nada, zip, ziltch. My parents think I'm crazy for what I do and refuse to fund it.

Don't get me wrong... my parents are two of the most amazing people I know, and they support me in everything I do. They just don't want to spend their money on anything snake related, lol.

Doesn't mean I didn't get some other great stuff! :gj:

Nothing snake related for Christmas, but I'll be buying a thermostat in a few weeks for my incubator, getting an incubator, and need to buy another adult rack and a baby rack. Good thing I have a "free" check coming up soon.

This Christmas is gonna be a good one...Parents ordered me a 32qt rack from reptilebasics (never thought they would support my habit:P) the girlfriend got me a male pastel :D and two of my female mice from my first breeding attempt are ready to burst :D

I didn't get anything directly snake related, but I did get some cash, which will be held back and put towards the purchase of my fourth ball python when the local herp show comes to town in May.

well hubby got me a new exoterra enclosure for my frogs including a ton of supplies, new bowls, plants, the actual tank, a new critter thingy for my largest crested too. Otherwise nothing actually "ball python" related.. im looking up how much that dvd is though, that sounds awesome. :) Santa (aka Comcast) was good to me!!! They came out yesterday and hooked up my new cable internet woot

We got loaded gift cards from my husband's family, so some is earmarked for snake books. I wish they could give us $nake money - good at the Hamburg, PA show on 2/23!

Our two snakes (a BP and a KSB) gave each of our sons a stuffed snake (beautiful 4 footers) and wrapped them around the Christmas tree like garlands in honor of the corn snake found in the Christmas tree in FL. The kids loved it!

Well, I bought myself the Complete Ball Python book. And I decided to start saving up money starting now for a pied male....I have found the only sure way to get myself to not spend money and save it is to cash it in and store the cash in my apartment somewhere. I hate spending cash that I can physically touch...so my savings works well hahah.

So hopefully in a year or two I'll actually have enough haha. Hopefully pied prices will drop significantly...that would help out!

I am from a Jewish family...so no Christmas for me...

I think my BF's parents may have gotten me gifts though.

annnnnnnnnnd my parents just gave me $80 for rats!

anther update, thankfully when my relatives do not know what to get me, they get me either petco cards or cash:gj: I got a $15 gift card to petco, and $40 to spend on heat tape and towards another snake.

I asked for a black milk snake for christmas, but my boyfriend isn't a fan of snakes to begin with, and my dad doesn't believe in giving animals as christmas gifts so that didn't happen. *BUT* my dad did buy me the Ball Pythons of the World book which I am *SO* excited for. He also bought me this:

I haven't taken it off since he gave it to me. The "diamonds" aren't real - I think they're just crystal, but I'm in love with it nonetheless. :D:D It's a short chain so I can wear it with just about any shirt. I'm going to wear it every day!:P

A 4-month-old captive-bred BP that's already taking 2 frozen/thawed fuzzies a week, no problem, courtesy of my wife.

:) Which is what brings me here, in general, so hello everybody.

I set the tank up last night, so we didn't pick it up until today and :frustrate it's killing me to not have it out getting to know it (and my daughter's driving me nuts about it like a broken record), but it's shedding and adjusting at the same time.

I used to raise lizards, once upon a time - 2 full-grown iguanas raised from babies through a full life-span, plated lizards, swifts, etc, so I had all kinds of fun stuff to play around with (tanks, tubes, driftwood, etc etc etc), getting the tank the way I wanted it.

:D I forgot how much I love creating these environments, and this is the first snake I've raised, so it really is fun continuing to design, improve, build, repeat - already.

We've got it in a custom-built 25 gallon stainless-steel framed tank lidded with plexiglass, thin indoor/outdoor rubber-backed carpet and moss for bedding, and a hugely-over-sized cardboard roll cut in half and covered with driftwood and more moss that it promptly moved into and made itself comfortable in. Under-tank pads have a nicely-controlled 83 to 93 degree gradiant going and the plexiglass lidding, even with the air holes, works fantastic for trapping humidity.

Tomorrow, I'll pick up a 1x1 board and finish the framing for the top, and build that homemade humidity thingie in the DIY section here (GEEEN-ious idea... wish I'd though of it or heard of it 15 years or so ago).

Anyway, hopefully the BP'll come out and explore a little as night falls and I can steal just a moment or two of its time to give it a good looking-over, but if not *shrug* it's not like any of us are going anywhere.

*drums fingers* Need to come up with a name now, though, before my wife sticks it with "Fran". No patience, that woman. I'd like to at least get to know it a LITTLE before naming it. :confused:
