Day 53 - 58

I am on Day 53 today........

I leave on day 58 for holiday.

Although I will have someone looking after them I really want to see them and place them in their containers myself so I know they are healthy and safe.

What should I do If I get to day 57 with no hatch?

How long are you going to be gone for? If it's not too long they will be fine for a few days just being left in the incubator. I would just maybe leave a little water in there for them.

I will be gone for two weeks so it's a bit long............

What temps you incubating at?

It varies between 88.3 and 89

Normally around 88.4

That's a tough call...I usually cut mine on Day 51 but I incubate at 90F...Incubating at 88F I would bet they wouldn't pip on their own until around day 58 - 60...

I really wanted to see them pip myself

I incubate at 89F, the earliest mine will pip is day 57... the rest seem to follow a day later and spread over a few days.

My guess is day 59F for yours

Is my temp too low?

I thought 88-90 was optimum

I'd say your temps are fine, they will hatch at those temps.

Get a webcam and get an account a earthcam.com. I had the same problem this past summer. Earthcam will broadcast the video from your webcam so you can watch them hatch.

Do you recon I should maybe cut the eggs on Friday?

The eggs are really denting now

candled them earlier and you san see them all moving....it's great

I wouldnt do anything they will be fine even if they do hatch when you leave..will be there waiting for ya when ya get back;)

I wouldnt leave water in there tho..that will Really spike your humidity and could cause alot of condensation dripping onto your eggs which can drown in the eggst before they get a chance to hatch

I dont take any babies out usually til they all leave the eggs...so its not uncommon to have babies in the incubator 3-4 days before i move them to their new homes

I can only speak for myself - I'm a cutter...LOL...If they were mine - I would cut them right before I left...But that's me...I do agree with Gib about the water...

why would condensation drown them?

There has been a lot of condensation

water will permeate thru the shell membrane and literally drown the snakes in the eggs

do the webcam and let everyone here know the address then you will have a watchful eye all the time. You could also leave your cell number. Be like here the webcam www.______.com if you see anything happen or weird call me!!!

LOL Lockes jsut take the lid off what ever you have your eggs in and shake off the excess water



once the eggs get closer to hatching they start letting off alot of extra moisture...and will kick your humidity a bit higher...and as they start pipping you will get even more again...

its an easy fix tho...jsut shake out any excess off the lid and your done!!

your far enuff along now that the extra humidity isnt really needed at all

Cause you can still see them moving!!!

if you have an egg go late term dead you will know it REAL fast....

the stench is usually the dead giveaway LOL (pun intended)

Why do some dent so much more than others.

It does help when candling though as the dented eggs are just dark but the others still have some room to see the eggs.

They all have veins

be sure to take pictures as they hatch, think thats some of the coolest pictures when there coming out of there eggs...:gj: nice

Finally have a one little head pipping out of an egg. Its 7AM still so hopefully by this evening more will be out.

Is it best then to cut the rest tonight if they have not hatched yet.

Well We had the first hatchling on day 57 yesterday and then another that afternoon.

No more yet. Should I be worried?

I can see a faint crack in another egg as well.
