    How's Sax Doing???
Since so many people have been asking how the little guy is doing...I thought I'd post a general update.

He seems to have settled in nicely, although his tub needs a little tweaking. Humidity is too high...but I wanted him to eat before I started messin' with it.

Yesterday, I dropped a small mouse in there...not really sure what he'd do with it 'cause he's been eating baby rats. But he nailed that sucker as soon as it moved and downed it easily. :D Made his mamma happy!!!

He's been out cruising his little tub a couple of times, so I've been able to watch him some, but I haven't gotten him out since his first day here. Such a TINY little guy! And yes...I've seen smaller...but still, he seems like such a little noodle compared to Kisasa, who weighed in yesterday at 1300g empty.

So....that's how things stand in my wee little corner of the ball python world! :bounce:

Hah! If I have to suffer by not holding him during his settling in period and then waiting for his tummy to digest...then you have to suffer through waiting for new pictures! :evileye:

    :P

    Thanks guys!! :D

Hehe...in a day or two, when the McMouseburger he devoured is for sure completely digested...I'll take him out to put more holes in his tub. I'll snap some pictures then. :snake:

I have had a bit of an issue with high humidity too, in my small '07s's tubs. I melted a few additional small holes into them with my husband's soldering iron, and it helps. For shed times when I want to raise humidity, I just put some masking tape on the Outside of the tub, over the holes; the snakes cannot come in contact with it. But I would not do this with the snake inside (meaning, the melting of holes into the tub with a hot iron!) Maybe buy a duplicate tub, and put the holes in, and do a quick change during tub cleaning?

Oh YES I did!!! :P I don't even know if I could get baby rats around here...I haven't needed them since we moved to San Antonio. And mice are just SO much more convenient for me right now. If they don't get eaten, I can keep them for however long I need to without worrying that they'll get too big. After a couple of rats grew too big to feed to my one ball python, it started to get more than a little frustrating! LOL (I don't much like killing them myself, and have no use for rat pets right now)

And no worries about the tape. My experience with Kisasa's tub has been that once you get the humidity set, there's no need to bump it for sheds...I just keep it constant and she sheds fine. I'm pretty sure Sax will, too.

Haha! If I wasn't raising my own rats, Murphy would have had a mouse too.

Great to hear the update on Sax! Sounds like he's doing great!
