    internal parasites?
okay, I was wondering if there is a way to check for internal parasites other than getting a fecal done. can they check via a blood sample?

Reason Im asking is because Goliath still has not eaten, hence no poo to bring to vet, and he's lost some weight.

He is in a 15g long tank, identical hides, temps are 82-83 degrees cool side, 93-95 warm side, humidity 54%. He is in a low traffic area. I have offered him various things to eat, but to no avail. weaned mice, rat pups, grown mice.. I would try F/T, but the local pet stores here only carry pinky mice and that would be like half an appetizer for him.

    Thanx.

How big is he? Are you using a scale to monitor his weight or ?

If you bring him in they might be able to do a cloacal wash?

yup, take him into the vet and they should be able to do a wash and get enough to make a slide.

Well, being it's winter and he's a bigger male, I'd think he is just fasting because it's breeding season.

If you're worried, I would get him in a 32qt tub, get the heat bumped up to 95/85(warm side/cool side, 24/7 heat) and up the humidity, and hopefully he'll snap out of it.

What are you trying to feed and how often? If it's f/t, maybe he's just bored of it and needs some movement to stimulate his appetite. Maybe a live mouse or live rat pup would help.

I've only offered him live food as that is whats available to me. His temps are where they should be and he is in a no traffic area at the moment. He shows interest in the mouse, flicking his tongue at it and looking in its general direction, but then he just loses interest I guess and disappears into one of his hides. Im worried because he has lost weight since I've gotten him and that cant be a good thing. I have checked for external parasites but he's clean so the only other thing is internal parasites.
