Another "what to get next" thread..
I know that some people hate these threads, but I am looking for input. I am trying to decide between..
    1.1 Mojave
    or
    1.1 Cinnamon Pastel.
I have, in the way of morphs now: 1.1 pastel; 1.0 Spider. Along with my school of normal females.

I am not looking for a "what would you get" answer per se. I am more looking for your opinions on what would make more interesting combos. I LOVE both the super cinny, and super mojo; both of these snakes are goals of mine. But I can't afford to get all 4 snakes I would like now.. so it is either one pair or the other..
I am leaning towards cinnies. I adore their super form; a mostly solid (IMO) stunning grayish/brown/.etc/ snake. And I thought of the combos I could make with the pastel and spider blood in the future. But mojos.. super mojos.. wow, they are stunning too.
Arrgh! Any help on future combo ideas would be great.
It is not really helping me to think "well, which morph do you like the looks of more..?" because I love mojos, and cinnies..

While I agree with you...go with the Cinny. Remember Cinny + Pastel = Pewter which are so cool looking :gj:

I'd go with some het or homo hypos. They mix very well with what you already have. GL:gj:

    Hi,

Why not get the best of both worlds and get 1.0 cinny for ginger and 1.0 mojave for bela?

Hold back a female of each or trade for new blood - possibly even trade multiples for older females and get yourself a few years further faster?

I know. I have much love for the pewters. I have a lemon pastel in the works too (worked out a trading deal for future spider hatchlings with a local guy, etc.)
Am I the only one who gets super-hyper excited about combos? I swear at work today I could not stop thinking of what to get next. I was thinking of crazy stuff down the road, like combining spiders with pewters.. bees with pewters..

Whoa.. I didn't think of that.. :D My "general" budget is around $500 for tax time. It's the whole thing with "if I hit my production goal, I get more $$" though.. you know how that is. If that happened, I could go more nuts..
Now the gears in my head have more fodder :)

I'd have to agree with JAS on this one. Speedy combos is great, but the recessive long haul is much more satisfying. And, Hypo seem to mix well with everything so far. You can't go wrong eith some Hypo stock.

p.s. If I had to pick one of your choices though, I'd go with Cinnys. I think they cross better than Mojaves. (In general, as there are some nice Mojave crosses: like Hypo Mojaves. LOL)

I do want to get a hypo as well. Yet more confusion to add to my decision making :) And a pinner is not out of the question.
But I realllly want to make the Super form of cinnies..

Cinnie's are awesome I'll be getting a nice female in the future when I can find one, their combo's in my opinoin are nicer than mojo combo's. If I were to buy now I'd go for an orange ghost myself the cinnie I'd probably trade for down the road.

I was thinking what about one of each? Maybe a 1.0 cinny and a 0.1 mojave. You could make some pewters and pastaves; hold back a 0.1 cinnamon and a 1.0 mojave and in a few yrs make lucys and super cinnies. I LOVE pewters and I think that pastel cleans up the mojave very nicely...

    Hi,

If it's the super form of the cinnies you like would black pastels be a better choice for the darker super?

The super cinnies I've seen seem to be brown rather than dark gray or black and the black pastels have a nicer super in my eyes (though I prefer the look of cinnies over blacks? - maybe I'm just nuts).

I think, if you decide on a cinnie, buy a high quality girl. Not those, 'just barely' cinnies. But one that will knock your socks off. I strongly believe in one.

But if you wanted to go a little more mula, I would recommend a hypo. They are just so stunning! And you cant go wrong with them, even though you have to wait a little longer. Pastel-hypo-spiders anyone??? :D

If you really have your heart set on either Mojaves or Cinnamons, what I would do is get 0.1 Mojave and 0.1 Cinnamon. The girls will take a few more years to grow up and by then the males will be even cheaper then they are now. (If thats even possible :tears:)

Yea Im with Mark... grab 1 female or each... breed em to one of your pastels the first yr... hold back a male from each... and whala you got your supers a yr later!

I like hypos. I would really want one that'd stay bright orange into adulthood.. I have seen many that seemed to dull out.
I might just start off with a cinny female. But yes, I want a really cool looking one with a distinctive pattern..
Why does this have to be so tough! Limited funds.. I should get a flippin' business loan and just get them all.. lol.

I don't know why cinnys have never impressed they all seem to look "normal" when they are adults. Whats the fun in that. Pewter are pretty, but i still wouldn't get one. On the other hand blue eyes luecistic are one of the most amazing snakes out there. They are so clean looking and unique. And yes pastel mojave look pretty cool to me. I love the eyes on the sides of them. Hypos on the other hand are ok. But Honeybees (you already have a spider) are one of my favorite morphs the all time favorite being spider albinos. Either way don't get something for what it "can do" or what others like or think you should like. Get something that if you can't breed it for the next 4 years you will still be overwhelmed by its beauty. If you decide on that and that alone you can NEVER go wrong. Good luck hunting. Thinking of possiblities at work to waste time is the best thing you can do. I as well did that all day long, ha.

Re: Another "what to get next" thread..
That is my issue! I have seen exceptional cinnies with weird patterns that set them apart. But I am not stunned by their beauty really, in general. I would just see them as a stepping-stone to a solid-colored brown snake that I think is reallly cool. Kind of similar to people that get hets generally; they are not buying them for their outstanding colors or patterns (though normals have a huge array of patterns and individuality.) They are buying normal looking snakes with the goal of producing morphs.
I feel a bit impatient but yes, I agree that I want something that'll knock my socks off, Now. :) If I were willing to wait, I'd go with some pied hets.. but I have a friend who's working with 1.1 and breeding them next year, so that'll probably be my venue for pied-ability.
Now I like hypos, but I don't want one that'll dull out in years to come. Anyone have some hints on how to judge them (as in, judging young pastels by the amount of orange that turns into brown-outs mostly..)? I want some BRIGHT orange in my collection!

Hmmm, well I agree with the thought of one cinnamon and one mojave. Then again I am partial to the mojave/spider cross so that may be influencing my thinking. I am in the same boat Gin, I have no idea what is next as there are 3 or 4 that I want badly.

Re: Another "what to get next" thread..
I might be going with a female mojave. I want to shoot for the super mojave, and getting the female first will give me time to grow her up and get a male later. I really like OGs, and want a male, but it seems redundant to get one now when I have already bred my spider to all of my females. But then again I could go longterm and get an OG. I actually foind a -breedable- OG for the same price as hatchlings are going for, on a reuptable breeder's site!!
