and this is the first time I have ever posted a pic of this girl...She is a wc and I had some issues with her. But now she is eating like a monster and and finally putting on weight.

I have 2 wc's but Shyanne was in shed so I didn't et to take any pics of her.

They were a HUGE challenge. But are doing very well now!

Tyree...It took almost 7 months to get my 2 WC's to eat.

I talked with Adamm about them and he made some suggestions how to gt them back on track and they worked!!! He is a pretty smart guy. :nerd: Just don't tell him I said that. :rolleyes:

I was asked to post some of the tips Adamm gave me to get my wc's to eat.

ok...first off...KNOW YOUR BREEDER.

that was a mistake I won't make again. ;)

I was uninformed that I had purchased 2 wc's...though when I got them I noticed a big difference in them compared to the others I have.

They were in QT forever since they wouldn't eat. But where I kept them I had dogs and kids pass by. Not too noisy but still...noise.

So that was my next tip....get them away from all noise.

I was also told to try crumpling up some newspaper in their tubs to make them feel more secure. I did have 2 identical hides in there but they seemed to like the newspaper better.

Then...6-7 months after I purchased them... I found 2 ticks on Shyanne.

I called Adamm and he told me to get PAM and treat their subtrate and tubs. I was also advised to treat all my other snakes enclosures just to be safe.

I picked the ticks off and in a week...they were looking better and moving around way more.

I moved them into my ballroom soon after. I was told to prescent the room for them and since I keep my rats in that room it is always scented.

I put a rat hopper in and Dottie took hers...I put one in Shyannes tub and she took hers!

They haven't missed a meal since.

SUCCESS!

I was gonna say you are brave to go wild caught but now I see it wasn't planned that way.

The first BP I ever got was supposed to be CB and ended up with 2 ticks and mites. my Vet told me no way she is CB.

Great advice, know and trust your source.

I would have never purchased the wc's if I would have known they were wc. The guy I got them from is a real douchebag for not telling me to begin with...but that's just how he rolls.

lesson learned for sure!

I am just happy that they are doing well now.

you know what Ree...I didn't say sh*t to him...I don't talk to him.

He sees me at the Manassas show everytime I go. He knows what he did.

I did a lil research on this guy and found out from very reputable sources that he is a complete douche.

Besides...I like the word of mouth method. and I just so happen to have a big mouth!
