The male is the pastel and the spider is the female? By the lock, I would guess the other way around.

Re: is this a lock? DUW
that would be funny, coz i bought them off the same seller. i guess that would be cool if he messed up the sex on BOTH of them rather than end up with two males or two females. i thought the same thing when i saw them, but i was so happy that i had something going on, i didnt give it too much thought! i was really worried i wouldnt get any love action because i didnt do this or that exactly right.
now i can take my Love Doctor outfit off. they really never had a choice to resist my mad love skillz

Oh; you're not sure who's the female? I would be a tad worried if the smaller one is not up to size, in case it is the female of the pair. How many grams is that one?

well they were sold to me as the spider being the female, but the pastel seems to behave more like a female to me. eats like a cow, whereas the spider is being a bit finicky as of the last two weeks. they are both over 1100g, so even if by some weird twist the smaller one is the female, i should still be ok, but the spider is a bit bigger.
the pastel was a bit more slower to start as a baby but he seems to have caught up.
and all kidding aside, the breeder guarenteed the sex. but with my luck, they would be backwards, lol

Re: is this a lock? DUW
Wait, first you said that the breeder sold you the pastel as a female, then in your last post that he sold the spider as a female. 1100 grams is too light for a female to be breeding.

Re: is this a lock? DUW
Ouch. 1100g is too light for a female to breed IMO. I bred my 1800g girl last year (she is heavier now; over 2000g) and if she were any lighter/smaller, I would have held ehr back another year.

Looks like the het couple are at an 8th grade dance, well these days I guess it would be more like a 3rd grade dance.

I have found that it is not possible to say that females eat more than males. :) I have one male, my pastel, who never misses a meal and eats like a starved chicken. Godiva, one of my females, eats all of the time but never has the strong, immediate feeding response that Ruger has. They are each just individualistic.

sorry for the confusion, i rechecked the thread but couldnt find where i said the pastel was a female, if i did, my mistake.
the pastel was sold to me as a male and the spider is a female. although by the lock, i agree, it would seem the other way around. also i mentioned somewhere that if my typical luck holds true then the sexes would be reversed, thats just my luck. thats why i steer clear of posting alot on forums, i speak in "sarcasm" so it doesnt transfer well into written word.
again sorry for the confusion, and thanks for the input on breeding weights. i know this is a fairly hotly debated topic, so i respect and appreciate everyones input on the subject.

when i said females eat more than males, i meant most of the chicks i hang out with... muahahaha!!! just kidding. thats good to know tho, cause i have a male GTP that eats way to much for a male too, and other than the first year he was sexually mature, seems to forget to fast too. i shouldnt gripe, i would rather he eat than make me worry about him.
