Five is Always Fun (DUW - lots of pics)

Well it took us awhile to get them all settled in, pick their names, do their Degei records and label their tubs but finally here's the pics of the five new female ball pythons we received today from Becky (SatanicIntention). They were beautifully shipped by Mike (MPenn) of www.pythoninapeartree.com

Here's the new girls!

This is Daimhin (pronounced daw veen), her name means "little deer" - 835 grams, normal. We picked it because she's was so shy coming out of the shipping box and would not uncoil for her pictures.

This is Liadan, her names means "grey lady". She's a gorgeous snake with sort of a grey wash over her colors and the most interesting grey checked belly markings - 1,179 grams, normal. She did a perfect shed in transit so is looking all spiffy for her pictures today. :)

Next is Ardra. Her name means "noble". She came out of her shiping bag slowly and regally so this name just had to be hers. She's the biggest female at 1,696 grams and is a normal as well. She may be gravid by Pandora's daddy so who knows, there may be more lemon pastels in our future *cross your fingers* :)

This next beauty was bred by our own Chris (Cueball) so carries a very special name. Dacey means "southern" and that she is, a beautiful snake bred by a great southern gentleman. Dacey is 801 grams, normal.

Lastly is the gorgeous 07 female Pastel bred by Becky from her lemon pastel male. Becky, she's better than I could have ever thought! Pictures truly don't do this glowing little beauty any real justice. Her blushing is so purplish! I could just stare at her for hours on end LOL. Thank you so very much for this wonderful female who I'm sure will produce stunning babies for us down the road. It's a pure pleasure to have our first pastel be of this high quality. Folk, meet Pandora!

It's one of our hard to spell, harder to say celtic/gaelic names. Usually takes me a good week or two to get the names stuck in my head but Mike and I do love their unique names. :)

We unpacked her first Judy and I was just WOW, oh Mike look, WOW. I've always wanted a female pastel so it's a bit of a dream come true for me. Now if "somebody's" gorgeous male pastel does his job this year, I'll have another lovely pastel in 08 to drool over. :)

It's all in the siggie Cass LOL. 23 BP's total, plus the 2 BCI's and the 1 milksnake...so 26 all told but 1 is Lynn's snake so 25 snakes, 23 of them being the BP's. :)

Aww, they look great! I'm so thrilled they made it there ok. I know Mike looked a tad worried when I handed him the sterilite tub with all 5 in there. They were HEAVY!

That's a big weight off of my shoulders knowing they are all ok :gj: Enjoy those girlies, I know they will all have a wonderful and very fulfilling life with you.

Oh, and the pastel is JUST like her momma, pattern and temperment-wise. She and Breth both have that little "person" on their butt, on the same side. She'll grow up to be a laid back, big girl.

Actually Becky I was thrilled how easy natured they all were. I was worried unpacking five snakes at once that somebody was going to be unhappy in there (hence why Mike did the actual unpacking LOL) but not one of them even hissed or anything. They were all very laid back sort of "hey how are ya! nice place ya got here! oh my tub, lovely, see ya later, I'm late for my nap" type thing. :)

I've peeked in on them and all 5 are either curled up in their hides or in the case of Adra, staring out at me with that classic "hey lady toss me a rodent will ya" look. Hope you liked all the names we picked for the them.

Mike did an outstanding job of packing multiple snakes of varying sizes. I'm very impressed!

The answer to that is never enough Aleesha! LOL I'm always on the search for new female ratties from fresh sources, I'm always sorting wean rats looking for particularily nice females of my own to raise up. It's a balancing act to have enough but not too many feeders of the right sizes let me tell you.

Mike and I got up this morning and basically raced to the snake room to check on the new girls and drool some more over Pandora the pastel. We're just hopeless snack addicts aren't we? LMAO
