Re: Bag of Snakes for 100$
It is true you can buy lots of imports. But I'd bet my entire collection you wont find a spider or a g-strip. Weak pastel maybe, YB more likely, I've seen real Weak calicos, I got a het red axanthic from one. But Id bet that 99.999999995% of the time you'll get all normals
Re: Bag of Snakes for 100$
Sounds like a spin-off of the infamous "Ball Python Lottery," which was nothing more than a marketing ploy to sell mixed lots of captive hatched normals to unrealistically hopeful buyers such as yourself.
People, morphs carry a high price because people want them and I don't know of anyone in this business who would be dumb enough to intentionally give them away (with the exception of this one polish guy outside of Baltimore :) ).
If you really want a morph, save your pennies and buy from a legit breeder.
my .02...

No one. Do a search on 'ball python lottery' and you can read all about someone's marketing campain to move out CH baby ball pythons right after they hit U.S. soil.
ha ha....for $100 you can get some actual morphs these days anyway....so why not buy a quality CBB animal instead of wasting time being sucked into someone's marketing ploy from last import season.
Re: Bag of Snakes for 100$
I'm really surprised anyone would consider buying wild caught bps. Even for the low prices, i wouldn't support the wild caught pet trade! :colbert:
Re: Bag of Snakes for 100$
i know the guy from www.ballroompythonssouth.com does the lottery in like, August I think. . .I think its $150 for a bag of 10 "Wild caught snakes straight from Africa" and the way he explained it to me was "They come in in a crate full of bags of 10 snakes, then without opening the bags, they separate the bags into boxes and ship them out to the people who paid for the lottery". . .thats just what he told me over the phone, but if you're curious i'm positive you could jump over to his site and give him a call. . .I think his name was Michael Cole
Re: Bag of Snakes for 100$
Whoever is "gathering" these WCs know if they come across something out of the norm, which of course wouldn't end up in this unopened bag.
I am not saying there is absolutely no possibility of getting something interesting...I suppose anything can happen.
Re: Bag of Snakes for 100$
Are they bps or did it just say snakes? I was searching for cheap feeders last night and one of the web sits just said feeder snakes for 9.75$ each. Some people who keep hots or large monitors will feed snakes to them. Maybe it's just a bag of feeders and if that's the case it's a rip off (25 for 100$). You can find them a lot cheaper and cb instead of wc, if thats what you're looking for. If they're talking about bps it sounds too good to be true. Sorry to be a downer but usually if it's too good to be true than it's false. Please just be careful I'd hate to see you get ripped off either way.
Re: Bag of Snakes for 100$
People, people, please read all the responses to the thread.
First off, the OP is going off of information from an OLD thread. As Daniel mentioned, do a search for "ball python lottery" to see what the older members are talking about.
Oh and, Michael Cole or anyone that was selling CH ball imports would not be doing it in August. It would be late April or early May.
