how often do you feed your adult ball pythons?

how often do you feed your adult ball python? and what size prey do you feed it?

once a week, larger small rat to a smaller medium rat between 80-140grams

Once a week, medium to large rats depending on size

one small rat per week.
mine's a male.

Once a week, one small rat (40-60 grams) a week. Even my fat butts get that and still put on weight.

Once a week. Ever Thursday they get a small rat

I tend to feed larger meals less often and vary up feeding intervals but a a guide I feed in these ranges.

This is actually too complex a question for a simple answer. You have to keep in mind that boith sexes experience long periods of inappetance at different times during the year. I like to keep my males on the slim side, so they get a small-medium rat every two weeks.

When they are feeding, my females get an appropriately sized rat every week. Medium usually, but I move down a size during the time from when I begin breeding trials, up to ovulation.

This regimen seems to work excellently for my colony of approximately 75 adults of various morphs.

females 800g-1000g get 1 large small rat weekly
1000g-2000g get a medium weekly
2000g+ get 1 jumbo every other week

males
1000g + get 1 small every other week

My big girl gets one small rat every 14 days, give or take. I know it's significantly less than what everyone else is feeding, but it's what works for us.

If I try to feed her any sooner than that, she won't eat. Also, if I try to give her larger prey, then she will wait longer before her next feed. When I took her into the vet, he said she was right where she was supposed to be weight-wise, and that she was very healthy.

I guess that's just more evidence that there is no *one* right way to do things in this hobby. ;)

According to size, either a small or medium rat every week to ten days. They usually never refuse a meal.

i dont have a set regime when feeding time comes for adults. i kinda just feed when i want to feed... it is usually 2 times a month large rats - 250+ grams.

i go about every 10 days, but it varies depending on if its before after or during breeding. im tryin to get my girl back up to weight right now so she goes no longer than a week with out food

I feed my largest girl 1 rat small every 7-9 days. She's 2 years old.
All my others are younger and get mice once a week.
