Ever have one of THOSE days....
the one where you should have just stayed in bed.

It started actually on Tuesday night, when my two little ones (2 years and 4 months) decided that they were going to hold a Lets-keep-mom-awake-for-36-hours-Marathon :rolleye2: followed by hubby being sick  and keeping me up last night :tears: as my two little angels finally slept :cens0r:
So sleep deprivation has made me answer in a post and call Kara Kevin , and then answer a post from back in April. :O Why it showed up when I clicked on new posts is beyond me. :confuzd:

Now I'm checking fedex for a few packages that I'm expecting and the one that should have been here three weeks ago (a bunch of hides that I had ordered), but was held up due to items being on back-order is now being delivered, eexxcceeeeepppt.. it wont get here today as stated on their original tracking message, it will get here tomorrow :rage:. so here i am scrambling around my house to find some makeshift hides until my order gets here. :slamhead:

Then for the fun stuff, my daughter decided that my shirt was nice, but needed a personal touch and so she :puke: on it, and my two year old has decided this is nakie time month and keeps taking his diaper/training diapers off. :sigh2: I think I need an office job?!
Okay, I'll get off my :soapbx: now. Thanx for letting me vent and for reading my vent. Hope your day is better than mine has been so far. :D

Doris, there are days as a parent, and I ought to know, when I understand when my granny used to mutter that she was going to set us kids out on the curb for the gypsies to steal. LMAO

Sorry that the kids are being crazed, isn't it always the way that when that happens the hubby is down and out for some reason or other. Just heads down dear, tough it out and the first quiet minute you get - forget the housework - take a bubblebath, have a cup of nice herbal tea and then grab an hour nap. You'll feel like a new woman I promise. :)

If this doesn't work, haul the whole lot of em to the curb and flag down a passing gypsy.

I'm with Jo! My mom always threatened to sell us to the gypsies, so there must be some long standing agreement with them. :giggle:

Here's hoping you get a long, uninterupted nights sleep. Hang in there honey, the day's almost over.

Ladydragon what you should do is punish the entire family by having them buy you twice as many presents for Chrsitmas than normal. :D

You've gotta be kidding. Rutger did not arrive yet?? Man, I am having a conniption here. What are they doing, walking him to your house? I am sorry about your day.. mine was not much better, spent at work at my office job. So sorry, that solution is not foolproof either :)

thanx everyone.. well the day of my original post didn't end so well after all.... hubby's cold is better, I've drugged the kids (j/k.. used sleepy time bath and lotion on them, seems to help), had my herbal tea and then had to say goodbye to my new snake.. not a happy ending. :(

Doris I'm so sorry to hear the snake did not make it. Shipping incidents do occur but blessedly seem fairly rare considering how many snakes are shipped each year all over the place. Doesn't really give you much comfort though when it's you snake that is the one that didn't make it there safely. :(

I know.. I feel more upset on how he must have felt than the fact that I lost a snake..

Re: Ever have one of THOSE days....
I literally wanted to just crawl under something and die. I still do. But I don't see how it is physically possible to ship a snake in winter. How can one heat the box so that it'll be safe in temperatures from 20 degrees farenheit, to.. who knows what they let it get up to? I marked on the box for them to keep it between 60-75 degrees..
I don't know how hot they let it get. I do know that they actually left it on your doorstep for three hours in the freezing temps. Sadly, because they did that, I think that the snake would have died regardless. When I read that they left it on your doorstep, I literally wanted to strangle the fedex person!! I thought that if no one was home, they had a heated place at their facility where they kept the package until the recipient was able to pick them up. I had the heatpacks set up to be safe from 60-75 degrees. I strongly suspect that maybe they even meant well, and put him too close to a heater, and the temps probably just skyrocketed from there.
I just did what I thought was right, and am still not even sure where things went wrong or what I could have done to prevent it. If I had heated it less, the snake for sure would have died, being out in the cold for a few hours. I put newspaper in between the heatpacks and the box as instructed, and used the correct amount as per the site instructions to ehat a 1 square foot box. I am just fed up with myself, fedex, and the world. I am even considering never even shipping snakes again.. Why do people do it every day and then I go and do it once and this happens??
After this happened, I emailed 4 breeders who ship often (I don't want to state them; they might not have replied for their own personal reasons.) No one replied with any thoughts on this at all.
