Well, I would say it's based on your time, money, and space. If you have enough room and a fair amount to spend, I would certainly go with the BP. If you have just a little room and not as much money, the Leo gecko would be great. :) I loved my leo, and he was relatively low maintenance in not too much space. Now, I adore my BP even tho she's about to take up 1/4 of my bedroom with her 4x2 cage and has depleted my savings with the cage and thermostats.

Beardies are lots of fun, tho they need a ton of room and special lighting and eat like pigs every day. And the only one I've never owned - the crestie - I assume from what I've heard can be really easy to care for and also takes up less space...though I would be concerned about the sudden leap habit they have. :)

ack, thats so tough!! i have bp, beardie and cresties!!! I cant pick a favorite, honestly. I do think your time/space/money all play a big part. Also what are you looking for in an animal, if you want something to watch you, interact, be held. then i think beardie is better than ball only because the balls stay pretty much hidden most of the time (mine does) the cresties are cute as can be and neat easy pets but you cant exactly do much with them outside your home... not that im suggesting you bring your beardie or ball out but they are possible.. a crestie you cant really. I dont have a leo so cant comment there

It's hard to say. Space and money are factors, but also what kind of interaction, in terms of handling, you want; do you want to be able to see it in a nice display, etc. BP's rock, but they don't come out until night when it's dark. Then you can turn on a dim light to sneak a peak at their antics. But handling - a beardie or a BP. Geckos are cute and "on display" but not as docile. Watch the tails on the crested geckos.

Someone was right when they said it, you're on BP.net!

Hi, I'm new hear but I've had every single animal posted. I currently own 1BP, 6 Cresties and 22 Leopard Geckos. As you can see, I'm partial to the leopard gecko. All of them except the Bearded Dragon are nocturnal so you can't really see them until lights out. Crested geckos don't require much heat (60-80 degrees) and are fairly docile. Leopard geckos need heat but are just as docile as the cresties and are prolific breeders. Ball Pythons are neat since they're SNAKES but can be little boring during the day. Bearded dragons require tons of food and are super tame but don't move much at all (you can leave them on your CPU and they won't move for a long time). Ultimately, which ever one you get, you'll come out winning since all of these are great choices.
