Microscopy Project with a Ball Python
Everyone, meet Aspen, my beloved female normal ball python. She is so lovable and popular she has her own website complete with fanbase.

    i kid. lol

This is my final project for a very hard photography course i just finished up in college. Im a third year photography major at RIT and for my Photomicrography project i decided to use aspen and explore some of the less looked at parts of a snakes body, their scales. I am not 100% on the information. i've been researching snakes since i was 10 years old ( and am about to turn 21 ) so ive gleaned things for years and some of it may not be exactly right.

I took each and every one of the images and aspen was a little trooper for letting me do this.

Without further A due, here is the project

yeah the camera, set up and lenses are all listed on the site.

i used a Nikon D80 body for all of it, some pictures were taken with a... i think its a 27-130mm lens ( i have to dig it out of its case to check ), some with a dedicated 60mm macro lens and some with a thimble lens ( a REALLY small lens ).

i also ended up getting an A+ on the project from my professor.

    ^^

    What a great project.

I just sent the link to my 6 and 8 year old nieces, and my 12 year old nephew, they all love my pythons, but especially the 6 year old. She'll be thrilled!

Great job, I normally don't click on links to sites with tons of pictures, for I use dial up. So I waited for things to load, made a smoothie, and wham!, came across lovely pictures of a beautiful ball python. Congratulation on your A+ it was well deserved.

i hope it didnt take too long for ya! i tried to resize the images to load but i know me, detail over file size any day! ( even if it means waiting a half hour for things to load..or 5 hours like that one time... oh man ).

and to ladyohh ( i cant figure out how to double quote on this thing ).

I also used a little bellows ( like this, but smaller http://www.northlight-images.co.uk/c...on/bellows.jpg ) and a thimble lens, the tiney olympus lens in the last picture on the website for her skin. the rest of them were shot with a normal "macro" lens, this http://www.ndreview.com/images/macro...f_28d_lens.jpg is actually my lens.
