Dinking projects? (pic)
Here's mine. I am hoping to prove this striped male, genetic. He is pictured here this morning, locked up with one of my females who has a broken-stripe pattern.
I know of someone who had a similar full-striped male, and they proved it out. They had to breed his normal-looking daughter back to him, but their offspring was full-striped. :P This male has never been bred; he was a pet of an acquaintence of mine who owns a shop. Here's to hoping that he passes stuff on!
What are you dinking around with?

Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
I think I might of said this before...that striped male is HOT!

Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
I thought so :) I stumbled upon him at the store. He had just been there for years, being a pet of theirs. I picked him up and my skeptical eye expected to see a break in his stripe after I was told that he "has a full back stripe." But no, there isn't any.
If my dangblasted finances allowed it, I'd be searching for a similar female. For now. Godiva has to do; she at least has partial, typical striping.

Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
I have an 02 female im pairing up with one of her 05 sons. They both have slight pied markers on them so we will see i guess. I dont know anything about the 02 female. Was a rescue that a friend got from another friend. She came from some petshop somewhere.Thats my only dinker for now.

Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
Ooh; you should post some pics :) Of course, if they are breeding, I would not want you to bother them. But I am a nut for pics..

I have a lot of these... hahaha... I love them!
Dinker project #1: Black back jungle-type het albino... hoping to make albinos that look like him? I would of course be happy with any healthy babies, especially albinos. He is paired with a het albino female this year.

Dinker project#2: A dark, chocolate-y colored girl with some cool markings and a clear belly.

Dinker project #3: Strange pattern and eye color... but also happens to be possible het pied, so hopefully that's it? She is paired with a het pied this year.

Dinker project #4: Granite, kind of brown backed... no weird head or neck markings, but seems to have a cool side pattern... and she's a B! :P Hoping to breed her to my yellow belly later this season, he still has some growing to do.

Dinker project #5: Jungle-ish pattern, kind of high gold, cool head marking... thinking just maybe she is a het for something... Ghost? Who knows... but she is awesome and loves to eat whatever the chondro doesn't........ She'll probably be ready to go next year.

Dinker project #6: Very reduced girl, my spider wannabe... I think she would be nice to pair with any proven morph next year.

http://i84.photobucket.com/albums/k1...newfemale2.jpg
Dinker project #7: Cue and MPenn gave me this beauty. *big hugs* This guy is very subtle but has some cool stuff going on, that is hard to capture in photos... his dark markings are very black and each of his light colored scales is bordered in a high yellow color... he has a cool pattern and a cool head. Who knows? I don't have a female for him this season, but he's a keeper. :)

Dinker project #8: The closest morph I have seen to him is Ralph Davis' labyrinths. I know most of them don't prove out, or maybe the genetics have yet to be determined, but I am rooting for him anyway. He's breeding a dark female this year.

Dinker project #9: Strange patterns and colors. After a bit of thought, I am theorizing that he is perhaps some kind of anerythristic ball? Seems to me that he is missing all red pigment? A very pretty snake and I'd love to make more of him. He is breeding a nice normal female this year.

Dinking project #10: VERY cool pattern and colors on this female. I need to get some more pics of her, but her back pattern reminds me of a labyrinth burmese, and her side patterns just kind of melt into her lower body. She doesn't have any black markings... kind of a strange purple-looking hue to her in person. Some very weird colors blending with each other, and an awesome face! I purchased her from VPI as a breeding project with her '05 son and two '06 daughters. Her offspring are also a bit interesting, they seem to be very light and yellowish, with no black markings, and an interesting pattern. I am hoping they are some kind of visual het to their mother. She is breeding with her '05 son this year.

OMG.. your snakes are stunning Rapture. That last female.. I think that if I owned her, I would spend whole days just staring at her! What a weird head pattern as well as weird markings.. I am just speechless.

Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
lol jas... I have a few dinkers...
05 normal CBB female, originally bred by Ian G. She isn't big enough to breed this year, but next year Id like to try her. And She had a clean white belly;)
http://i182.photobucket.com/albums/x...g?t=1195868000
Next is an 06 normal CH female. She kinds looks a little funky, jungly, and she just reminds me of a cinny, which is exactly what she will be bred to next year.:gj:
(her color is way off in this first photo from the flash)

Last, I have a male I got as a normal but he looks too much like a YB not to try to prove him out. Sadly, this year Im too tight on girls, so he has to wait.:tears:

I have a few more, but no pics, and they aren't all that outstanding looking, more subtle.

No... just posting about a gorgeous snake.
I would keep all of those babies as well! Here's to hoping that our freaks are not just results of unstable incubation temps.. here's a toast to genetic hopefuls! :8:

Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
where can you get all of these weird looking normals from?? are they all wild caught animals??
-
Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
It is tough to say.. Some people find them as "sleepers" in people's collections, who did not see them as anything different, or who might not know about morphs, etc. Others find sellers who are selling a strange female and her normal-looking offspring, because they themselves don't want to bother proving it out (case in point is Rapture's lovely weird female that she got with its son, who could be het for the weird traits she has.)
You can find weird "normals" if you dig a little online. I knew of one site that had odd unproven imports for sale at pretty reasonable prices. They were young snakes, so most-likely, no one had ever bred them and disproved them..

Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
I am online looking at snakes all the time... every now and then something really cool pops up.

Re: Dinking projects? (pic)
