    Whats Cookin?
Happy Thanksgiving Everyone...just thought it might be fun to see what everyone is having (cooking) for Thanksgiving dinner.

In my house I cook Thanksgiving dinner sort of a tradition (and I love to cook :D) and the wife gets to sleep in and relax with the kids.

So for the 4 of us:
Roast Turkey - no special prep. Brushed with butter and seasonings (stuffed with onion, garlic and celery)
Corn Bread Stuffing - if you have only had bread stuffing you MUST give this a try it is da bomb.
    Smashed Taters
    Corn
    Beets
Rutabegga (sp?) - smashed with bacon and butter - emm emm good
    Wheat rolls
    Cranberry Sauce - fresh made

    So whatcha cookin?

Sounds good Sean. What time should we arrive for the feast? LOL

Both Mike and I are fighting a nasty flu/cold virus so we actually decided to put off a big Thanksgiving dinner until next week. We all enjoy this special meal and it doesn't seem worth it when some of us are feeling like a truck ran us down.

Tonight I'm just pulling together an easy meal of semi-homemade italian sausage spaghetti sauce and pasta. It's a family favorite and a lot easier for me to dish out.

Thanks, we will and enjoy the delayed dinner all the more. Robin's sent me a bunch of lovely recipes she's using today so I will likely try one or two next week for our belated feast. :)

Heh, what are we having? Whatever we order from the Black Eyed Pea restaurant. :) We never cook beyond soup or pasta normal days, why would we do an elaborate meal on a holiday? That, and eating out is cheaper...

No beer here but I broke open the wine cellar and pulled out a nice aged Burgandy.;) should provide the same result.

We're having roast turkey stuffed with Pepperidge Farm Dressing with celery, onions and mushrooms in it, pea casserole, yams, cabbage, cornbread, and Apple/Cranberry Casserole for dessert (more like a cobbler).

All this for two people - yikes! I just love it, it's raining out, getting cooler, the apartment is filled with the smells of good food, and the football games are on. It's a cozy, quiet day that's not rushed in the least!
