how many people own normal ball pythons

I personally own one ball python and love him, his colors his personality everything and just wanted to know if a normal ball python was more common then all the morphs going around so tell me which one you have and we always love pics

Normals are more common by at least 100X if not easily a 1000X. Just look at all the big box pet stores all they carry are normals. As for me I have 20 normals or so and love them all...each has something unique that attracted me to them.

actually all the petstores i seem to hit have more exotic morphs more money fore them... also when i went to an expo i only seen 2 tables with normals while there was tables and tables or different morphs in fancy displays...

I would venture to say that at least 90% of the people on here, have at least one normal. They are what most people start out with due to their availability and lower price. And they are necessary in dominant morph breedings if you want to keep a morph pure and not combine it with another morph (unless you're just breeding morph x morph.. even then, you'll sometimes get a super form of that morph.. so breeding to a normal will hopefully produce more of your dominant morph..)

i have female normals but no males

I have normal females....and every one is a stunner IMO! :)

so is it better to get a female normal and "morph" male or the opposite not like im gonna be breeding my monty is just a baby

We only have 1.0 normal BP. We have NO morphs! (yet) They are pricey - my son's favorites are the albino and the lavender albino. I like the piebald. Since we're broke, we can't even dream of these yet! And I'm not sure we'll ever be in the business of breeding our own. (We also have a 1.0 normal Kenyan Sand Boa.)

my one and only snake right now is a normal female... that being said, in April 08' I plan to purchase a female spider from Adam at 8ball, and while im at it i might pick up a pastel male.

ya i have 2 kenyans 1.1 but ones a baby lol i also would like ot buy a 100% het piebald from 8 ball i think thats where i seen it...
and maybe a few more ... so that would give me 50 50 for babies with a normal? or ?

Yup, my little girl is a normal...tho lots of people ask me if she's a pastel. :) I adore her cause she's the sweetest snake and an awesome eater, doesn't matter that she's not a morph. :)

Although I feel I must add that my two corn boys are both morphs :D

2 normal females for me

I have 2.11 normals - and they are each beautiful and unique in their own way. I adore them just as much as my hets and pastel!

I have 1.2 normals, just love them so much.:)

I have 0.2 that i know are normals I bought them as normals. Then I have a 2.4 that are petshop balls that im not sure if het for anything. Then i have 6.5 Hets and poss hets then 1.0 pastel 1.0 YB 0.1 mojave Think thats it for now a few corns too.

currently in my possession one normal male bp, will be getting two 100% het pied, so they will look normal, so that would eventually make three. :D

I have two normal females and two possible het pied females.

3 normal females and 3 normal males, and 3 that are het or codom (all males).

Two het recessive pairings on the go, and one codom... so my normal ratio will shoot up soon (hopefully).

All 3 of my normal males is each is stunner in my opinion. Each has something about the way the colours come together and the pattening that makes them exquisite.
