What is stupid about this ad? He is selling the tank. The snakes just make up for the price of the tank. Pretty good idea LOL!

He probably had to word it that way.

Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
Thats okay, on the CL section for my area.
They have a 22 inch ball python, that has the "rare" two eye dot pattern instead of just one dot.
-
Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
hahahahaha must be super rare cuase none of us have ever heard of it hahahahahahaha j/k j/k it could exsist i dont know
-
Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
I dont really think its a stupid ad, anyone familiar with craigslist knows that you can not sell pets, you can ask for a re-homing fee. So he just found a way to get around listing the snakes as for sale, just a relly high price for a piece of junk tank! Smart guy.
-
Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
Sounds like a deal het pie and het albino i would already pay more than 300 as a pair
-
Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
sparky1 hit it on the head.
and no not all 7 were in one tank.
and yes i did post on rdr about where to put my money.
you see this way i know where people are wanting and going to put there money.i want to sell pythons that people are wanting. and to ask on a python fourm is the best way to see what direction i need to be taking on my breeding projects.
make any sense??

Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
Who bred all of the hets? Do you have paperwork on them or are they just assumed hets?
Rick
-
Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
All of those hets were sold to me by Shawn Turnage of Twisted Constrictors.
the Het Albino was produced by Josh Wolfe
Het Axanthic produced by SK
Het Pied is unknown
and yes i do have paperwork on them(-pied)
and all have been sold.
Craigs list is a great place to sell.i think i have sold more off that web site than any other,ya just have to word it right.:snake::gj:

Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
Ohhhhh....you're that guy.

Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
Craigslist has a policy against selling animals. Most people on there ask for a rehoming fee. Obviously this person is wording it this way so as to stay within their policy. Not as stupid as it may appear at first glance.

Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
This was discussed in another thread, and I felt then and still do that rewording the ad to violate the TOS is a way for BYBs to sell animals without going to the trouble of maintaining a website. It's more common with mill dogs, which I think is what CL had in mind, but his ploy is still a direct violation of the CL TOS. I frequently flag down obvious puppymill and BYB ads, but have so far abstained from flagging reptile ones as I think they are a much smaller industry and not as exploited as dogs are. The nature of the difficulty of reproducing many snakes necessitates a more thorough knowledge and better attention to their care than that which many mill and BYB dogs get.
*shrug* I'm not an enforcer, that's just my viewpoint.
I was more amused by the idea of non-visible hets from some guy on CL.
Oh, and full disclosure I did contact him about one of his pastels that he advertized in a later ad (didn't realize it was the same guy until he replied to this thread today) but that didn't work out.

Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
I dont think that Craigslist would be the best place to reptile shop. You probably would on occasion make a good find when somebody has to get rid of a reptile for some reason such as leaving for college and family wont care for reptile or the owner died or some such thing. Mostly I thing that you would be incurring a greater risk of bringing a disease or parasites into your home or a snappy snake that has never been handled. But If you were out to rescue snakes you would probably find snakes in need of rescue there. In my area there is somebody posting that they are looking to free reptiles all the time on Craigslist and my impression is that they sell them.

Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
If the hets dont prove out after 2 or 3 years you just have to send the seller an email through Craigslist.:rolleye2:

I am mildly annoyed at your unprofessionalism in handling the potential sale, but that's what I get for looking at somebody selling on CL. :-) Next time I'll look elsewhere, no harm done and I've learned a bit more.

Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
A long time ago, the band Tool was going on tour, and everything sold out in a matter of minutes. eBay didn't allow people to scalp tickets, so everybody sold stuff like socks with free Tool tickets.
-
Re: Another Stupid Craigslist Ad
It's been deleted by now. Man, I never get to have any fun. I always miss those links people post. I'll go surf on Craig's list myself then.
Two weeks ago, I found a flagrant reselling of Craig's list adopted animals on Craig's list - posted before the first ad was even gone! It was a RTB. He more than doubled the adoption fee. I busted him.
