Do you have kids?

I was just curious.. seems like a cool thread idea. Do you have kids? If so, why? If not, why not? Do you plan on having any or anymore in the future?
I am newly married, and my husband and I are not having any kids. We don't feel the urge to, really. He has a 12 y-o daughter and visitation reights, and she is a neat kid I admit. But I don't want any.. for one, the earth is already overpopulated pretty-much.. I feel no reason to add to this. Another thing is, I see many people's good kids go bad.
I also see many families with awesome kids that are close to them. I am not against anyone having kids; if people have the time and resources for them (and know how to be good parents..) then a reasonable amount is fine in my opinion.

I have 3 kids 2 with my wife and 1 from a previous relationship. 2 of them where.... umm... mistakes and my 3rd was planned. I never wanted kids, but don't regret any of them!

I have kids. 2 boys...one is 9 years old and one is 18 mos old. I want another (a daughter hopefully..) but I think my wife is done, 2 was enough for her....and if we have any more kids, we have to add another bedroom to our house....

No kids... Love um, but not for me at this juncture in my life.

Maybe later, when the time is more appropriate :)

my husband and i do not currently have children. right now we do not want to have kids, but maybe some time in the future. it's not that we don't want to have them at all, just not right now. :)

We have 3 girls

17, 12, and 21months.

The 17 and 12 year olds are my gf's from her previous marriage, the 21month old is ours. . .they're all 3 gorgeous!

Want 1 more. . .try for a boy. . .

I have been married for 22 years!!!! No more kids for us....

Hubby and I have 4 kids between us. He has one aged 10 lives in MD, Mine are two boys 17 and 11 and a daughter who is 10.

I'm not married, don't have kids and I don't really want kids. If I ever get that maternal urge, I think I would rather adopt than have biological children--for the same reason Jen mentioned (I don't need to contribute to the overpopulation of the planet).

I don't want kids because I want to have a career and be free to travel if I want to. I have very specific ideas about how kids should be raised, and I'd have to stay at home with my kids until they were school-age...I wouldn't want a day care or nannies raise them. Because I'm not willing to raise kids in the way that I think is the "right" way, and because I'm covetous of my free time, I'm just not going to have any. That said, I'm so willing to be the fun aunt and spoil my siblings' future children :D. I like kids, just in small doses.

I have worked with children for 10 years which was very rewarding, now I just want to enjoy life with my husband who has 4 grown up kids from a previous marriage as well as a 5 yo grand kid.

I've got Kate 20, Luke 16, Beth's almost 14 and then young Michael whose just 6. Making the decision when I re-married to have a child with my husband, Mike, was quite a big decision for me. With the other kids being 14, 10 and 8 at the time, dealing with shared custody of them and also enjoying more freedom as a parent with older kids.....well it was a big deal to go back to diapers and nursing at age 40.

Would I do it again?

In a heartbeat. :)

27yr old son from first marriage, 25yr old daughter, 22 yr old son and 15 yr old daughter from second marriage also have a 5 year old grandaughter and one grandaughter on the way

I have 2 boys Nick, 30 and Lars 32. Also have 9 wonderful grandkids. Oh and my wife, Kelly 30. Not one of my kids but just as hard to keep up with!!:)

In what capacity? I also work with children, I am a counselor at a foster group home facility for teenage boys. Right now we have about 40 boys ranging from age 11 to 18.

Technically I have one nearly 9 year old daughter - Katrina.

However, she is completly in the custody of her father in Austin. She's a great girl, too smart and sassy for anyone's good, but I just can't do kids. Long story summed up by saying I was responsible for the care of my little brother (moderate retardation) since I was 4.

My boyfriend/partner and I have no desire for kids of our own, though I would consent to being a surrogate for someone who really needed the help. Besides, my animals are 'children' enough :)

I have not worked with children for the past 4 years, however before that I did everything from nanny/french tutor, to counselor for under privileged pre-teens and teens, to summer camp director.

I guess that I will throw my hat in the ring for the title of 'oldest newbie' and say that I have 2 sons,one is 34 and the other is 29.I have one 4 year old grandson,one daughter in law, and in December I will have 2 daughters in law.

I dont have any kids. Cant find anyone willing to have them with me. Any of you fine young ladies in the prime of your breeding age volunteer to let me be your babies daddy? lol I might as well post an ad while im at it. 22 m east tennessee lookin for a nice young lady to settle down with. I enjoy long walks on the beach and gazing at stars. All I want in life is world peace. Any takers :please: lol.

I have two daughters, the oldest turns 6 in a couple of weeks, the youngest is 4. I couldn't imagine my life without them. Not sure about having more... but being single, the decision is made for me at the moment ;).

I love my kids but if I came up pregnant again at 46...well the doctor and my husband best run for the hills. LOL

One daughter, 7 y/o. Actively "practicing" for a boy.

My husband and I have 4 kids. The two oldest are his daughters from a previous marriage.. Brittany is 13 and Cassie just turned 12. They are in full custody of their mom, but they live about 10 min from us:). The two that we have had together are our daughter Chenoa who will be 5 on Thanksgiving (so an extra special Thanksgiving for us this year!!!:D) and our son Kayden who is 3. My husband says no more but I think that I want at least one more in the future, I have to finish school and get a bigger house first!!

I am 23 and have two kids My Son Darius is 4, and My daughter Alex is 3.

I didn't plan on ever having kids, for reasons already stated. My son was a total suprise. Just with the wrong person, my ex is a drug addict, a theif and a liar, and is currently rotting in Idaho state pen.

My husband and I got married 3 years ago, and following our marriage our daughter was born. He also adopted my son, and has been there as his dad since he was 4 months old. You wouldn't know any different unless I told you:)

Im 23, not that it matters but i did see other people post their age my fiance of 6yrs (yes we are finally getting married in 08 while we did do things backwards we do still want to make it right) is also 23.

I have two boys, Elliott (3½) and Ethan (1½)

I dont like children, never have to be quite honest with you but i LOVE my children more than anything on earth. Elliott was more or less a whoops, we agreed to keep him and it was the best thing to happen to us. Ethan was planned after we lost a baby before him in utero. Kids arent for everyone and we lost lots of friends when we had our boys.. now those people who bailed on us are having kids.. its quite funny actually.

well, I have three kids, Connor, my 10 year old, Matthew, my two year old and Dana my four month old. No more kids for me. Would I do it again, in a heartbeat. Would I try to repeat it but at a younger age,.. yes. :D

Between my girlfriend and me, we have 3. I have two boys, 9 and 7, from my previous marriage. Her daughter from her previous marriage will be 4 in 2 months. NOOOOO more kiddos for us...

edit: Oh, and since everyone's posting their ages, we're both 29... :gj:

I have 4 daughters and would love to have many more children if only my hubby and uterous would agree.
