How much space do you require
    to support your daily lifestyle?

The average ecological footprint of a single person in the United States is 24 acres. I took this quiz to find out what my ecological footprint is and while I am below the average, I'm still ashamed of myself.

    My Breakdown:
    Food: 2.7 Acres
    Mobility: 0.2 Acres
    Shelter: 7.2 Acres
    Goods/Services: 6.7
Total FootPrint: Around 17 Acres :O

^as a tidbit. I guessed on the size of my grandparent's house because I have no earthly idea what the square footage is.

Total available acres per person: 4.5

So I'm way off what I should be. The results of the quiz said that if everyone in the world lived like me, we would require 3.8 planets! :O:O:O

Even though it was a small little quiz that did not get too much into detail, I do realize that I'm having a very negative impact on the enviroment and so I will begin to find new ways to decrease my ecological footprint.

Take the quiz yourself. See how big your footprint is.

that was really neat. I'm all earth-conscious and whatnot so it was interesting to me. I did pretty well actually. We would still all need more than one planet though.

    FOOD 3.5
    MOBILITY 0.2
    SHELTER 2.2
    GOODS/SERVICES 2.2
    TOTAL FOOTPRINT 8 <-- woohoo!

IF EVERYONE LIVED LIKE YOU, WE WOULD NEED 1.8 PLANETS.

Mine was 20 acres, but I think that's mostly because I have to commute to work.
    Neat quiz.

I think that mine might be a little high. I eat alot of meat, but it is from deer that we harvest here; not factory-farmed animals. Not sure.. I try to conserve where I can and recycle too.. I think that they should include that :)

Re: How much space do you require
You guys are getting better results than me. I've done a few things to start minimizing my footprint. I now turn off all lights, computers, t.vs, ect. when I leave the room. I'm going to start a compost heap to reduce garbage output. I am also shortening my shower times to reduce water usage. :gj: Baby steps. :D
