you would need an Albino het Pied bred to your het pied, and you may get an albino pied, albinos possible het pied, pied possible het albino, and double hets...I think.

Not exactly. You need both animals to be carrying the albino and pied genes in order to even have a chance at getting an albino pied. And even then, the odds tend to be kind of long.

You could have a pair of double-het for albino and pied
    OR an albino-het-pied x a pied-het-albino
    or any combination of those.

so in order to get a double het the parents would have to be het albino and het pied?

You could get a double het that way...but you wouldn't know which animal was double het without proving them out the hard way.

The easiest way to get 100% double hets is to breed a homozygous albino to a homozygous pied. And then you raise up those double-het babies and breed two double hets together...and have a 1-in-16 chance of hatching out an albino pied.

Umm.. If your albino was a True "Homo" You wouldnt get any eggs at all... J/K!!! Albino x Het anything gives you 100% het Albino 50% het what the other is het for..

Just rem how the recessive genes work, Pat. You've asked about other ones, so here's a easier way to think about it.

Any recessive trait needs two copies of the gene to SHOW the trait. Albino snakes carry TWO copies of the albino gene, while HET albinos only carry one copy of the albino gene. So, if one parent has one copy of the gene, and the other parent has no copies of that gene, then the hatchlings can ONLY be hets, because they don't have another source for the second copy of the albino gene.

In your possible breeding, the parents are technically a homo(2 copies) of ONE recessive gene, and a Het(1copy) of a seperate recessive gene. You have to figure those seperately, because a albino gene plus a pied gene only gains you a snake carrieing one copy of each gene. None of the hatchlings will get two copies that way, since each parent snake must carry one gene(for each recessive trait).
Mom must have one albino, and Dad must carry one albino, in order for any offspring to SHOW albino.

In a Homo Albino x Het Pied breeding, all babies will carry the albino gene(but only ONE copy) and half the babies will carry the pied gene(again only one copy) so half the babies will be het albinos, while the other half will be het albino/het pied. There will not be any way to tell which are which, since all will look normal.

It's really tricky to try to figure out multiple genes in one breeding, and I hope that this was somehow helpful. The pundit squares are great for figuring out what you can get from any possible combination of genes, as long as you can figure out what goes where, and what genes are recessive and what are co-dominant.

so, like judy said, i would be better off just breeding albino X pied to get the double hets.

Re: Homo Albino X HET Pied?
Breeding homo pied x homo albino will make sure EVERY hatchling gets one copy each of albino and pied, so you can breed any two of THOSE together, and get 1 out of 16 babies to come out a homo pied/homo albino visual!
Jackpot! Unfortunately, the ball python doesn't lay tons of eggs, so you MIGHT have to try more than one breeding to hit that 1 in 16 perfect hit. BUT, in the meantime, you'll be making very useful babies!

right becuase every baby that is normal, will be that double het. i know im a pain in the ass and im tryin so hard to understand all of this. reading other peoples posts and researching through google. im slowly understand.

Hey, it's a complex thing to try to figure out genetics puzzles. That's why folks ask questions, you can't learn without questions. Good luck with the googling, I know there's LOADS of information out there, I still screw up pundit squares, even after practicing.
