    Your most treasured posessions?
    What are they? :P
Qualifications: they cannot be humans, or anything living for that matter. They are to be material items suchas toothbrushes, pens, and lighters.

I'll start with a few of mine..
-My vehicle (Jeep '03 Wrangler.) It gives me a ton of independence, not to mention, a way to get to/from work to earn a living.
-My photo album of pics from mine and Mark's first vacation together in 2001 :)
-My Doc Bar Breyer horse model. Not even one of the more expensive ones out there; just hard to find!

I would say my Western Hognose but 1. I don't have it yet 2. It's living. So my most treasured inanimate posession is my sterling silver Krana. It's worth something!

My car. I race it on the weekends and drive it to work everyday. 2006 Evolution IX MR. Most of my money goes into that car. Since buying it 1 year ago I've added over 100 horsepower, shaved over a full second off my 1/8 mile time, gotten over 30 runs in it, had it to 160mph (ran outta road not power) and it has never failed me.

    After that...snakes, motorcycle, guns.

Well, if my house were burning down, my first concern would be my animals.

Next thing i'd go for would be my jewelry box. I almost never wear jewelry, but some of the things in there are very sentimentally valuable.

Everything else is pretty much replaceable and/or unnecessary.

So i guess that means the things i listed are my only truly treasured possessions.

    Re: Your most treasured posessions?
Hmm, similarly my first concern would be for my boyfriend and my animals... but after that would be my photo albums and a good portion of my stuffed animal collection. Hey, a lot of those guys can't be found anymore! (FYI I have over 140 and counting).

Other important things would be Ari's CPU since he has over 12 years of game design work stored on that thing, our D&D gaming books, and the few pieces of jewelry I have that are worth something. :)

My 1954 Browning Auto-5 "sweet sixteen" that my grandpa gave me on my sixteenth birthday. This A-5 is one of the most reverred shotguns of the past, and the "sweet sixteen" was the cream of the crop. My grandpa owns many, many guns, but this gun was the only one he would use out in the field hunting. Untold number of rounds have been shot through it in the last 53 years, but it still serves me well when I'm out hunting to this date. In fact, used it just last weekend out goose hunting. "mint" condition sweet sixteens sell for incredibly high dollar rates, but none of them are as attractive to me as this baby of mine.

Amy and Morphie hit my big ones already....Jewelry and makeup, both worth a small fortune, but priceless to me.
My boots and shoes. I love my shoes so much.
And my SUV, because it cost 3 arms and legs.
Photo albums and discs, of course. Computers and PS2.
Then my tins, Elvis and GWTW collections. Souvenirs from vaca's.

I might be more material than I thought.

Wow, when I think about it I really don't come up with much after my snake....I don't wear makeup, and only really have belly button rings, which aren't that big of a deal. I guess I would have to say my truck.....she definately keeps me on my toes!! :P

After that....probably the pictures of my dogs (we don't have them anymore) an maybe my studio supplies. There is so much time and money in that toolbox and create. And maybe my tv? It was a gift from my mom, but that would really be the only reason I'm attached to it :P

All of my treasured possessions really aren't worth anything to anyone else but they mean the world to me. Just things like my favorite picture of my mother, stuff the kids have made over the years, a crystal dish with rose petals from roses Mike gave me when we were dating....really just little things but they'd be what I'd miss the most if they were gone. They are always some of the first things I put out when we move, they just mean home to me.

This is a really hard question. Being the anal person I am, I've already talked to my family about this. If we had to evacuate in 5 minutes what would we grab (after the animals of course). First thing on my list is my cedar chest from my great aunt. It has all my mementos from when my kids were little and our photo albums. Next would be CDs and camcorder tapes that I've saved pics of our birthdays, Christmas celebrations, vacations, etc. Next would our portable fire proof safe that has all our birth certificates, marriage license, insurance etc. After that it would be a free for all . . . .

I'd have to say that after my kids, wife and animals (in that order) were accounted for....there are really no matieral things that mean that much to me...except my cell phone and that is never more than a few feet away from me 24/7....

1985 Charvell, 2000 Strat (electric guitars), and a little plastic ring with the word LUCKY on it that I got from a vending machine. I got the ring at a burger joint on my way to my first cliff launch in a hang glider. The ring cost me ten cents and it is my most prized possession today.

    Re: Your most treasured posessions?
I've thought about this since it's good to think about when living in a place with cataclysmic events can occur that require you to evacuate your home.

    Other than animals and hubby...

    - a ceramic jewelry hand that came from my grandmother.
    - pictures (although there are so many and they are so heavy).
    - firebox which contains important papers we really should have in a bank vault and my family antique jewelry.

I would be sad about loosing many other things, but things that are completely irreplaceable are what make it on my list...

Cell phone, car, clothes, even our hobby stuff (quilts, fabrics, theatre equipment), my cookbooks...it would suck but they are replaceable...

Awesome replies. I was pleased to see guitars on here. I had a Gibson Les Paul that was one of the things I would run into a burning building for.. unfortunately we had to sell it a few years back to pay for our truck.. how I miss it :(
A few more treasured things of mine? A shed pair of deer antlers. I found them out in the woods a few years ago. People go out and look for sheds all the time here and never, ever find any. I happened upon not one antler, but both. Kind of like a hug from Mother Nature; it was at a time that I was experiencing alot of strife and it really made me smile to find them :)
Now that you mentioned guns.. one of my treasured items is a .22 rifle that my dad had for years and gifted to me. It is a Ruger and was originally your standard wood-stock, but we outfitted it into a more drastic bullpup and now it is one of those things.. symbolic heart of the past, with outfitting of the present and future.

hrm...many of my things have already been said but here's what I'm thinking off the top of my head:

motorcycle...I can't believe I ever lived without one and the years between owning one where very painful!

My car was my baby for a long time...still is but it has worn off some. Its a 2002 dodge stratus sedan, sporty yet room for 4-5 people or two people and a back seat full of reptiles and related items.

My computers, my wife is using the last gaming rig I built and I have to turn in my nice still new macbook pro next week when I change jobs :( BUT I have just ordered a barebones laptop and all the parts I need to build that will so kick arse compared to my macbook (other than the fact it won't run OSX).

My sword collection: a couple samari types, a replica from the original Highlander movies, a replica of the Blade movie sword...probably my favorite and VERY sharp!

Guns: even though I haven't gotten out out to shoot in the last couple years: P89 Special Edition, my old trusty .22 rifle for small game given to me by my grandfather.

My cell phone only because its the only phone number I use...its old and sucks, hoping to get a new one after I start my new job (I think they may issue me a blackberry!)

I think I'll stop here...I treasure just about all my "stuff" otherwise I wouldn't keep it.

ok, if were talking there is a fire and we got family and pets out safe, then my scrapbooks for sure. they have the last 6 years of my life, photos older than that would be on the list of "must takes" but the last six years, including the births of my children... irriplacable

Sounds like an amazing mod, however it's kinda hard to update a goosegun without completely rebuilding it and sorta ruining the emotional value. But yea, I've been thinking of putting a mcmillan tactical stock on the old Remington my grandpa also gave me. Most people who know me well say I was born a 100 years too late, so pass-downs from the past have a special place in my heart.

all material items are replaceable, but I have two lists of things...

    1) non-living things I would run in to save in a fire:
    - wedding pics
    - titles to our cars and business paperwork
    - laptops
    - I have this pillowcase that I love so much...its got something like 1000 thread count and is whisper soft

    2) non-living things that I get the most enjoyment out of:
    - our house and the land it sits on
    - my car ... a BMW 330 that is an absolute thrill to drive
    - my wedding/engagement rings

Once the kid, the hubby, the cats and the snakes are safe ...
I would grab my treasure box. I got the negatives of my daughters' baby photos, some kindergarten drawings of hers and lots of photos of friends and family and concert tickets and stuff from when my hubby and I first started dating in it.
    Everything else is replaceable.
