misting/

When u guys mist what do u mist? Sides? substrate? artificial plants? top of hides? driftwood? Let me know

If you have actual drift wood(not plastic) the only thing I wouldnt spray is that... Other than that do it up... I do hides and sides.

In my glass aquarium, I spray everything (hides, sides, substrate, furniture) until it gets that "morning dew" look.

Im assuming you have a tank setup. If so i wouldnt mist the substrate because of molding and what not, i would spray the walls of the tank :gj: good luck.

when we were using the compressed coconut bark, we misted it until it was a nice dark color, mist the back side and call it good.

I mist the sides, plants, tops of hides and wet down the paper towel covering half the screen opening. That seems to work for most of the day, and I mist once in the morning and once before bed.

I do a couple sprays in each corner on the substrate each day they are opaque.

Im using a 30 gallon glass tank with cypress mulch and it really keeps the humidity up. I also have 3/4 of the screen top covered that I read in a sticky on the site. As far as misting I mist everything. I treated the piece wood I have with Deft. Its a sealer that is used on house furniture like tables and stuff. If you treat the wood just make sure it has plenty of time to dry. If you have any driftwood I would strongly recommend treating it with a sealer because it makes disinfecting it so much easier.

I use racks and I mist the front half of the tubs, sometimes I mist the whole thing but I like to leave a little dry area for him/her to chill on.

I use cypress mulch and just dump out the water bowl on the mulch when it's time to change the water if the mulch is getting a little dry...Usually cypress won't mold or get mildew...When's it's to dry it turns a really light brown and when it's good to go - It's more of a rich brown color - If that makes any sense...

I use tubs with air holes in them. During shed times, I mist the inside of the entire tub and the substrate (paper towel.) I plug most of the holes with tape to retain humidity for shed times; normally, they are open and allow for ventilation. I always leave a few open though.
Misting the snake itself is ok, but I would do it fast, with warm-enough water; most of mine stress when being sprayed and I make it fast and only really do this if I am late in noticing a shed (like if I were out of town for a few days.)
