VICTORY! Muahahaha!
My last remaining hold-out non-eater granite female, who hatched on August 15th, FINALLY ATE BY HERSELF!
I brought some smaller adult mice home to feed the babies, like I do every Thursday, and left them in the room for about an hour. Got everyone fed without losing any fingers ;) I had left the granite alone for 2 weeks, as I was told to do, and decided to drop a large crawler/almost hopper into her tub last night. I actually forgot about her, and at about 11pm or so, I went and checked on everyone.
Low and behold, the freaking mouse was GONE and she was sitting on her hide looking all proud. I had to dismantle the tub just to make sure I wasn't dreaming or hallucinating.
THANK GOODNESS! And thank you to everyone who has offered assistance. This little girl is going to make it :) She's still about 55-60g but a robust little thing with an attitude. Her sisters are almost 200g, so she has some catching up to do! I'll get a picture of her tomorrow after she's done digesting.

Awesome! It always feels so good when the last hold-out eats... seems like there's one in every clutch.
Congrats

Re: VICTORY! Muahahaha!
Josh, I hatched her myself. I didn't buy her somewhere and just wasn't having luck with her. She didn't have that instinctual know-how to make her realize that mice are food and you eat them. One of her sisters was the same way, but didn't take as long to learn. All 35+ of my snakes eat whenever offered(unless it's Amani and someone said her butt looked fat or something, so she's on a 2-week schedule now).
She was from a small female I rescued(my granite), that was unknowingly gravid. The whole clutch was small(5 eggs that were TINY) and each baby weighed about 45-50g. They took forever to shed too.

Awesome! That must be the greatest feeling. I went into feeding my hatchlings with trepidation, and a few held out for a little while. It is great when they are all eating!

Yay, Becky, that is fantastic! I'm so excited for you!
I'll have to try that trick here tonight.

Re: VICTORY! Muahahaha!
That rocks! You should name that snake Gandhi. BP's require patience and that one sure tested yours.
Were you or did you try assist feeding?

Re: VICTORY! Muahahaha!
Laura, your avatar disturbs me.. just a bit.. erm..
Hopefully she'll be as pissy and bitey as her siblings soon! I got told to "hiss off" ALOT last night by the two older babies, haha. Hyperventilating little snots ;) They all look just like Sarah's picture of the open mouth going for your jugular. It's great :-D
Raul: I had been actually force feeding that baby since 7 weeks after she hatched. She didn't want ANYTHING to do with assist feeding whatsoever, but she gained weight and got to a healthy weight for her size. All of the granite babies are in those smoke colored sterilite 6qts, seems to keep them calmer(LMAO! whatever that may be).

Re: VICTORY! Muahahaha!
Glad to hear she's finally figured it out Becky. I know when Darra and Kennis finally figured out "oh hey! this is food! I'm supposed to eat this!" they never looked back. They are still smaller than Fianna and Niamh who ate right from the get go but are well within normal range for 07 hatchlings. Hopefully you're little girl will do just fine now. Congrats!
