PETCO Lies?

I passed by a PETCO last night and saw the illuminated sign was "modified" from "PETCO Supplies and Fish" to read "PETCO lies".

I found this pretty funny I was just wondering if this was maybe the work of some animal rights group or something like that.

Has anyone else seen this, or am I a conspiracy theorist?

When I bought some mice this week at Petco the guy was telling me my BP's were going to need to be tagged and I would have to pay $100 per snake. He was misinformed about the bill here in FL, as it only applies to giants. I decided not to argue.

they do lie!! i bought bedding that was $13 and they charged me $21! i was so :cens0r:mad. they were all like oh thats for sure twenty one dollars i went back there and the lable still said $13. it sucks cuz the minute i opened the bedding i checked the recete. so i couldnt return it. LIAR LIAR PANTS ON FIRE!

do you have a petco pals card? sale prices are only if you have it! so, if you don't, they're right. but they should've told you that and offered you to join either way!

yeah i have a pals card. im there so much with all 3 of my pets i feel i should own stalk with them. hahaha. what ever. i got hustled. :rofl:

Just take your PALS card and the receipt back to the store and show a manager.

I don't hate Petco like many people do. The one near me is actually better in care of their animals than most smaller stores in the area. They seperate their rats/other rodents by sex and size, and use good bedding (aspen, no pine.) And their snakes, while they are all in one cage, have hidespots and a UTH on a dimmer, and they all eat according to my husband's cousin, who works their reptile department. He had made some changes for the better, as well as in the fish department.. but the tough thing about saying "I hate petco" or "I like petco" is tricky. Some locations are so nasty that I would not step foot in them, according to what I have read here. Then there's the one in West Seneca that is really not bad at all. And they are into adopting-out cats/dogs as opposed to selling them; something that alot of local shops should learn as well.. argh!

I bought enough aspen bedding to last me a whole year for $12 from a reptile show.

pythontricker, I suggest you do the same. petco is over priced in everything they sell...EVERYTHING. I left after their MICE hit 2.29 per mouse. what a joke :colbert:

dito!! to the t. the one by our house is really nice, always very very clean!! the only thing i do dislike is they have lots of baby balls together but otherwise its a very nice clean store

i work at a petco and to tell ya honestly i tell people we are over priced and tell them to go to the dollar store and make there own hides for animals out of the cheap plastic dark containers. and if it comes to bedding and stuff like that i give them a list of websites to look into. and being the reptile specialist at my store, i check in the animals and the last shipment of bp's we got were mite infested, thank you pro-rodent for that! sorry didnt mean to name drop. but it erks my nerves that :cens0r::cens0r::cens0r::cens0r: like that happens and it took me almost a month and a half to get rid of the mites for good. o welll im done writing. ooo and i changed the name around of the company for my entertainment.

They must be having a malfunction on there signs everywhere.I drove by the one here and the sign said P CO :rofl::rofl:.

I personally don't shop there unless it is a situation where I need rats and can't find them anywhere else. Now that most of my hatchlings are gone, this should not be a problem as I breed them.

I dont think Petco lies (on purpose), they just dont know what their talking about most of the time.
I had a Petco emplyee once tell me how you had to feed the larger species of tarantulas newborn pigs. Funny thing, I keep around 40 tarantulas with some being pretty darn big and all they ever get is crickets and roaches.
Oh well, it takes this to make the world go around I suppose ;)
