Gordon Normal BP?
Hey everyone. I just got this guy Gordon here and he looks different than other normals that I have seen. I am pretty sure he is normal but I am not certain and its annoying me. Can you guys let me know your thoughts? These pics make him far brighter than he is. He is much darker in person. Either way he is a cool guy, I just want to know for sure.

"Normals" come in a huge variety of shadings and patterns. He looks like a very handsome "normal" to me. :)

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
Cool. Thanks for the quick reply. I just keep looking at him and wondering. I have had him less than a week. His original owner was moving and did not have room for him in his new home. Would you believe I got him for nothing?

Although, that tail stripe could be genetic, but you would have to prove it out! :D
either way that boy is sweet looking :sweeet:

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
I had some babies hatch and i think 4 out of the 7 eggs had the tail and neck stripe. Just like the mom. Then 3 of the babies looked just like dad reduced pattern and much lighter. Not sure Whats going on there, but im going to keep the nicest looking male to breed back to mom to see if the stripe gets longer or something like that.

He's a very handsome reduced pattern normal! I like the spots on his back!

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
He's a very nice looking male. We have 15 normal females. Every single one of them is unique...some are dark, some are light, some have some striping, some are reduced in their pattern, others are busy patterned, some have clean white bellies, some have busy bellies. Normals are just so unique and lovely. :)

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
very nice... i love long neck and tail stripes... dunno why... maybe i should get a genetic stripe someday, huh?
-
Re: Gordon Normal BP?
Yea I love stripes.
He's cool looking.
rabernet: do you call it "reduced pattern" because he doesn't have the alien eye spots on his side?

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
I have been looking around at other pics and have noticed the tail stripe on many of them. I have not noticed the neck stripe though.

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
Mine's got a pretty good size neck stripe, but not nearly a long as yours.

Your guy's pattern holds up alot more in the middle, and is very nice. The sides kind of remind me of a daisy flower.

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
oops. what I meant to say what mine's got a neck stripe and a tail stripe, but the tail stripe isn't near as long as Gordon's. :gj:

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
Thanks!
Morphs get most of the attention and, indeed, they are very cool. But, its kind of fun to really look at the subtleties of the different normal patterns and appreciate them.
Is Gordon fully grown? I can't tell from the picture. Its hard to believe he's even darker than the picture! Mine has gotten a bit darker as he's aged. He's about 14 mos now, and was only 7 or so in that picture.

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
Mine has the neck and tail stripes as well. So does my sister's. I didn't know it wasn't normal for a normal? Haha, that came out funny. :P:

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
I got Gordon a week ago today. They told me that they had him for five years so he is full grown to my understanding. I dont know what his weight is since I dont have a scale. He is between 3.5 and 4 feet long. I need to get more pics of him soon but I am going light on the handling since its a new home for him.
The funny thing is I did not want to get a snake. My girlfriend wanted one for our apartment and I was all scared like a big baby. Now I am just so amazed by them so I read all that stuff I can find about them. lol

I dont have any good body shots but here he is. I did get close to him but he decided to get closer. I had to use the macro focus on the head close up. Im no photographer but I thought they came out well.

Re: Gordon Normal BP?
Cool. nice closeups. I wish my camera could do that.
He looks pretty light bodied, or is that a trick of the flash?
-
Re: Gordon Normal BP?
There was flash but he is a bit brighter than most I would say. not like a pastel though.
