It is beautiful, but the phrase "Lifestyle Pets used a team of geneticists to develop the ultimate designer pet." really gets my dander up.

I guess I'm not really sure why it is so expensive... I'm not sure how much Savannahs and Bengals go for, but this cat seems to be just like a cross of the two? Maybe I'm wrong?

Haha, I had a normal domestic declawed cat that could run a chow out of our yard. I can't imagine what one of these can do!

I think that is where I will have to just say I respectfully disagree. However, I am curious as to your reasons? Is it overall tinkering including cloning or ??

Sure, I don't have anything against cloning.

Yeah, a cat the size of a dog is just perfect for me. I've always wanted to take the ocelot home from the zoo

I'm really not all about hybrids, but I'd love to get a serval/mix or ashera one day.

If he only started creating them three years ago, how can he possibly say anything about their long-term health or behavior?

And I really don't like the way that top one is standing...the hind end is is a good two or three inches taller than the front end.

Interesting cats :) Ther are definately beautiful. That is a staggering price tag; but like anything else, if they are rare, they can charge whatever they want and someone will eventually buy..

That first one is just a Savannah cat, not an Ashera. The Ashera seems to be something like a Savannah/Bengal combo.

I don't know anything about his breeding program, so can't answer that question.
But I do like the tall hind legs. I assumed that was from the two wild breeds used? Thing must be able to jump pretty high.

Yeah, I think the "undisclosed domestic breed" in the mix must be Savannah.

Hmm, it is really beautiful, and I would love to have one. I just don't think I would have the space necessary for it. If they really do stay tame, thats awesome, I just don't want to see them end up being put down because they end up going crazy and feral like most big cats/hybrids. Domestication takes a long time and selective breeding. But if he really believes he's found a short cut, then sign me up, just beautiful!
