Kenyan Sand Boa Pictures Finally Here!
Here's the cute little male I picked up at the Chantilly NARBC Expo on Saturday. Still haven't named him though.

This gives you an idea of how tiny he is. The ruler is in centimeters. He cooperated about a minute later and measured about 10".

Here he is on my son's wrist. Don't worry, we are keeping handling to a minimum - just hard to resist.

A close up of his cute eyes!

Very cute.. I'm sure you'll really enjoy having a KSB. They're one of my favorite species.

Only when they are young. Once they start putting on some size, they start getting rougher, especially the closer you get to the tail.

KSB's don't get larger than about three feet.

Our new little guy is very smooth, but his tail seems slightly rough/dry. Is that what you are talking about? Or is this not good since he is so young (a month old or so)? Thanks!

It's been awhile since I've had a baby sand boa.. but I'd venture to say that's just their normal texture showing up.

I wouldn't say Morty's eyes look human, but they are CUTE! When his pupils are dilated like this, I guess you can say they look more human. But when his pupils are constricted, you see that they are vertical.

Sand boas have major crosseyed bug-eyes. Super cute though.

I love Morty's overbite! When he gets bigger, I'll try to capture it on film. (For those of you wondering, this is a normal KSB trait.)

I actually don't know - I am too new to being a KSB owner and never planned to breed. Try a breeder or a website, google search rosy boa. I'm sure you'll find it. Here is one I found:
    http://www.kingsnake.com/rockymounta...RMHpopular.htm
It says they are sexually mature at 3 years of age. I know, as with all boas, they have live births. Do you have any KSB's now?

Can you post pictures of them? Or put them in your gallery? I would love to see them. :)

KSB's should run about $40 for hatchlings (1 months of age) and a little more for slightly older or adult - but that's w/out shipping. That's how much we paid for Morty. Try local Craigslist, etc. Good luck! We love our little guy. He's so tiny right now; and it'll be fun to watch him grow up.

We just got a baby KSB in at my work (Petsmart) too, and he's $100.. waaay too much for a baby, and who knows who their supplier is. Find a good breeder. I know a really good one. :) He's just got anery kenyans right now along with some roughscaleds.. but the anerys are less than $100.
