Chuck Liddell VS. Wanderlei Silva

any ufc fans?

this is gonna be the best fight ever.

Silva rocked Liddell in their early days in pride championship.

Definately going to be a good fight, I got the chance to fly out to Vegas in August for UFC 62 and saw Lidell fight Sobral

Not close to the best fight ever but thats an opinion I guess. I dont like either fighter, especially Liddell. He's a drunk who the UFC protected and made to be a huge deal IMHO. Wanderlei is alright but I dont like him as a person. Alright fighter though.

I just cant wait and see who the put up against Fedor. M-1 Global is making his next purse 10 million which has to be the stupidest thing ever. The only way it could be worth that much would be Randy or Josh Barnett but I don't see either of them joining M-1 anytime soon. M-1 is gonna destroy itself I think.

but yeah fedor is probably the best fighter in the world. dude is sick.

Maybe that's why Randy suddenly dropped his UFC affiliation... I've got my money on Fedor if it happens!

I hope it is a good fight! The pride fighters have been pretty disappointing since coming to the UFC. I think Silva beats Liddel he is reeling from his back to back loses.

I think a lot of that has to do with UFC's insistence on making 'stars' out of their reality fighters... some are all right, but geez, they don't all need a special! Some really good international fighters have been pre-empted by Chris 'Talentless' Leben and his ilk...

As for Liddell, I never really thought much of his style (or lack thereof)... he has great takedown defense, but I've always thought a good striker could pick him apart without much trouble- the only thing he had was that ridiculous knockout power and his aggression once someone was stunned.

I don't care what people say, Liddell has always been my favorite. He's a redneck drunk with unstoppable, non-technical power. If he stayed in shape and trained half as hard as the rest of them, he'd be unbeatable.

I agree that he would a much better and more respectable fighter but not even close to unbeatable.

My husband is definately a UFC fan. We know Nathan "The Rock" Quarry; he's a really cool dude. I saw him fighting on TV a few weeks ago and Mark talks to him pretty regularly on MySpace.

Houston is shocking me....his last couple of fights, he looked great, i didn't think he was that good!

Go Silva! Chuck just spends way too much time waiting for the big punches sometimes. Don't get me wrong he has one big swing, but the last time he just stood there hoping it would happen all by itself. He needs to have a second game plan if he can't knock the guy out!

But my fav is George "RUSH" St Pierre! He will be back!

St Pierre is pretty good havent seen him fight in a while thought didnt he lose to matt hughes???

No, he beat Matt Hughes but the next flight after he won the belt, he lost it too Matt Serra (UFC 69) but his last fight he beat Josh Koscheck (UFC 74) so he is slowly working his way back up! (I hope!!!)

I had a feeling he would lose, i was pretty dissapointed. But hey....

yea its going to be one of the best fights i hope Chuck knocks him out

However, i love how GSP slapped hughes in an arm bar. :gj:

Silva took what Chuck had to offer and never fell fight went all 3 rounds.
So Chuck dominating I don't know about that but he did win.

Georges is going to be a force to deal with.
He is going to crush Serra !

It was a great fight card all around. I was dissapointed Liddell won, but I was estactic that GSP beat Hughes. I may be all alone on this one, but I can't stand Hughes.

those fricken no name heavy weights made me fall asleep

I just hope that Chuck wins his next few fights so we can watch Rampage knock him out again!

I see all these Chuck haters, but what happened to all the Silva fans? :rofl: UFC went south a long time ago anyway. Bring back the original rules and guys like Abbott. If I wanted to watch a couple of guys in spandex shorts wrestle I would have stayed in highschool. I'm sick of all the 30 second fights with tappouts and nobody even gets hurt. They should change the name from UFC to The Great Armbar Challenge.

the reason is, is cuz you can have one really good stand up fighter like chuck, then have a really good ground fighter like tito and have a good fight to watch

I'm always disappointed when I see a tap out. I want to see knockouts.
