    Strange markings?
    Greetings!

Thought I'd share some pictures of one of my male rats. I've never seen these kind of markings, almost silver-ish. Though it might be because I've not seen that many different rats, anyways, here's the pictures.

He's a roan. Where do you live? If you're over in europe, you're likely safe breeding him(they were founded in Europe and don't carry bad genetics like the ones over here). I would die for some English roans..

I live in Norway actually :) Just thought he was crazy colored. The previous rats has all been white/black, but this one got himself a "tan" :P

Well that is certainly a unique looking guy. I've never done a lot of research on nor seen a roan in person so this is new to me. Very interesting looking animal.

They usually start out black then "roan" out, like in horses.

Crap, I can't see the pics. Roan horses are awesome looking.. but I guess that if they get a cut that scars, the hair grows back in non-roan and looks funny? I guess that this is not important in rats unless you were showing them.. and it is pretty rare for rats to get injured when housed properly anyway.. (not like horses, who tend to get injuries from thin air..) I have to research this now :)

I am with Becky...I would love to get ahold of a couple of English Roans.

    He is a stud.

Too bad we couldn't go in and get a group rate somewhere; I'd be in for that.
Heh; I fixed it, but I had made a typo that said "a group rat." lol.
