    Sometimes STERLING is a Girl's...
best friend! We hatched out this little male Sterling Pastel Ball Python today and since I was taking photos, I took the time to snap a few pictures of him! I really like the sterling silvery coloration he has and am curious to see how he'll change as he grows.

I also took a cool group photo that I thought turned out really nicely showing various different ingredient morphs and the designers they can create!

Thanks for the compliments! And yes, Tristan, the Albino in the middle left of the group photo is an Albino Cinnamon. The one of the right is a really high contrast regular Albino.

    Thanks,
    Celia

I wholeheartedly agree with you guys! There's just something about that Albino Cinnamon that makes you stop for a minute and appreciate just how cool it is. Honestly, the group photo of it doesn't even really do that animal justice! She is SO much more orange in person and it's a real pastel-ish sort of orange that's extremely rich in color. Plus the white on her is SO white it really stands out.

Here's a photo I took with her and the Sterling by themselves. I thought the two of them made a nice "contrast-y" picture!

I've never seen a Cinnamon Albino. Wow Celia but that is one good looking beauty of a snake! I was so fixated on the Sterling Pastel I sort of skipped right over the Cinnamon Albino. Have they ever been produced before? Do either of these morphs have "special names" given them yet?

This girl was actually the first Albino Cinnamon ever produced! We are very proud of her :-)

Gulf Coast Reptiles produced the Albino Black Pastel first (I think it was last year) but nobody had produced an Albino Cinnamon yet. We hatched this little girl out and shortly afterwards, Greg Graziani hatched out a pair of Albino Cinnys. As far as we know, these are the only three that have been produced so far!

What a wonderful thing, Celia, for you guys to have put that sort of legacy into the history of designer morph breeding. I just can't imagine what it feels like for you bigger breeders to have that happen. Major congrats on this achievement in breeding. :)

    Hey Celia,
Congrats on you and Sean hatching out the Sterling. I hatched out two of them last month and it is an incredible feeling. That Albino Cinnamon is wicked also. I love the color on that one. Is the Albino Cinnamon a boy or a girl?

So in order for a cinny albino you would breed albino to cinny and get cinny het albino and breed back to albino to get cinny albino?

Yep Jeremy . . . that's the way to make that combo.

Celia, that Sterling is beautiful! I am in awe of the cinny albino though. Very cool snakes.

Those are some gorgeous examples of their morphs. The cinny and the high contrast albino are to die for and the sterling is a stunner. They are definately some snakes to be proud of.

That's actually a piece of black expanded PVC. Sean uses PVC to build a lot of cages/racks. He gets them in 4'x8' sheets of either black or white. I had him cut down a couple of pieces for me to use as background for my photos and I really like the way they work! They are lightweight (easy to carry around with me at shows), easy to clean (when you have the ocassionaly nervous model that has an accident), and relatively inexpensive. I like to use black or white because everyone knows what black or white <i>should</i> look like so it gives you a good standard to view the animal by.

I've tried several different kinds of backgrounds in the past including black/white velvet (too hard to clean), black/white melamine (works well but the material is heavy), marble (a lot of reflections and really heavy), acrylic (too much reflections), etc. and so far, I like the expanded PVC best still!

    Hi Celia,

I found Ball-Pythons.Net by searching for “Sterling Pastel Ball Python” on Google. This thread one was of the first to appear, and I’m so glad it did. I had been hoping to find better pictures of Sterling, and I don’t think I could have found better. After seeing these pictures I registered right away!

Your Sterling is absolutely gorgeous! You must be so proud.

I have been doing a lot of research into Ball Pythons in preparation for getting one of my own. Aside from the technical aspects of proper care, I’ve also been researching the various morphs while deciding which one ‘spoke’ to me the most. I have to say, the Sterling is definitely speaking!

Can you, or kind person who happens to read this thread, be gracious enough to help me with a general price for one of these particular morphs? Male/female price would be helpful.

Again, your snake is just gorgeous (all of them are!) and I’m so happy for you. Thank you very much for uploading these pictures - it really helped me a lot to see such a beautiful little guy.

    NightLad,
I can tell you that there aren't that many Sterlings running around, but if you are in the market for one, I would expect to pay about $5000 for a female, and $6000-$6500 for a male. Hope that helps.
