    Official Quirks and Bugs Thread
Hi everyone! Hope you're enjoying the new look! However, as Judy said in another thread - there are a few crickets still running around that we need to fix, so please use this thread to report anything "buggy" that you experience, or post screen shots if available. Those less technically challenged than myself (Raj, Emily and Judy) will check this thread and try to PAM those crickets right on out of here! :D

A few strange ones here (after clearing cache) - on IE 7

When I first get to the site I get the standard blue color scheme. If I click the logo or refresh the page it changes to my choice of Kahaki. It is only when I first get to the site.

The "multi quote" button is just a red x - on all pages (but does work)

The new button inside a quote (when someone quotes someone in a reply) is also a red x

The new "check spelling" button (and the font size up/down) are all the way at the far right of the display instead and next to all the other buttons?

These are odd crickets I know.

Keep em coming...the red x buttons will be fixed asap. I just have to "create" a few buttons that were non existent within the old themes.

I just wanted to say (since I mentioned something about it last night in another thread) that all of my smilies and all of my buttons (the ones for changing font sizes etc in posts as well as the mult. quote and quick reply) are all working for me now. I run Firefox and they weren't working last night but they are working now!!!

Thanks for all the hard work!!:gj::gj:

Go to user options and set ur default theme there. Once you log out, cookies get cleared and you should see the default skin. Once logged in, you theme of choice should be universal.:)

Way to get er done. :D

The only outstanding item (unless it is supposed to be this way) is the check spelling and font up/down buttons being all the way to the right away from the other buttons (this is seen when I am typing in my post)

Yup, it's the same on my browser. I think it's supposed to be this way...I'll check into it asap!:D

Raj, my pages are loading super slow today. They're fast on other forums, and I even re-booted my computer - still very, very slow here today.

Do you have another browser like Firefox installed on you computer? If so can you try with it instead? I wanna rule out a browser problem first before attempting to dive into the "speed" issue.

Nope, I'm a creature of habit, and don't really venture out into the un-known if I can help it, and Firefox is the unknown for me.

It's going a wee bit faster now. It's lightening fast on Fauna, if that's any help?

I think it may be the "rating crumbs" that are taking a while to load at the bottom of the page(fauna topsites for example). Is it slow all of the time?

Still a little lag, but tolerable compared to what it was this morning. At least now I don't want to just get up and walk away from the computer.

Can you switch over to the default theme and try? I wanna rule out the possibility that a custom theme might be causing the problem.

    Ok...new one.

I noticed when sending a PM you no longer have the ability to track them. Is this permanent or will it come back? It was always nice to know when someone read your message...especially when awaiting answers to questions and such...you never know how often people are online.

    Sean,

When you compose a PM, you have to click the box beneath what you've written that requests a read receipt. It's there, just not automatic now.

Thanks Robin...I see it now. My screen is just big enough to cut those options off (without scrolling) so I never knew they were there.

When posting a new reply, you cannot pop open the Smiley box to get smileys... :(

It just brings you to the top of the screen, and doesn't pop the box...

    Just FYI

Or it may be my work computer....

I think that might be it. Javascript might be disabled and security might be set to high as a default. See if you can adjust or get permission to adjust those and it might fix the problem.

Hmmmm, that's strange. Everything works flawlessly on my Firefox. I'll investigate this further. Might turn out to be some silly javascript call that's causing this. Try dumping your browser cache and cookies and see if that helps any.

I just had this in ie7 too - was just that the page hadn't loaded correctly so refreshing the page worked for me (if you've been typing copy the text first as it will be lost  ).

ggrrrr!! ever since the changes, everything so far seems to be working fine for me.. the one thing that I noticed different and it annoys me is that if I'm signed in and walk away for 5 min or so (gotta deal with kids, phone, household chores, etc.), when I go back to check up on something on the board I have to sign back in. Is there a way to disable that? I'm constantly going back and forth and to have to sign back in each time is getting old. thanx. :D I'm done venting now!

I have a new one...For some reason (and this is new since the change) the site is caching...so when I leave it and come back I have to immediately hit refresh to get the latest info...otherwise it is just like when I left (even overnight).

Are you referring to the forums front page or the "Main" page? What browser are you using? If you're using IE7, go to:

    Tools->Internet Options->(Browsing History)Settings->Check for newer versions->Every time I visit the webpage.
