Update on Grace!
We just got back from the Tinley show, so I thought I would give everyone an update on Grace, for all those that followed her story. Nothing but good news to post. For those that did not see the original post, I have included a link here: http://www.ball-pythons.net/forums/s...ad.php?t=53378 .
I have included apicture to show her progress, which I think is spectacular for this short a period of time. However, the greatest news of all is she ATE a hopper mouse today (her first meal). This is great news, but I still have one hurdle to get over, as if she can keep the meal down, digest it and defacate, I will be more sure that her internal organs are all in order. I am still a little concerned, as I have seen some dark spots under her skin in front of and behind the original wound that could be hemorages(sp?). At any rate, I attribute all of her well doing and progress toall the wonderful people on BP.net that have sent their prayers.

Thank you to the wonderful family that is BP.net,

Re: Update on Grace!
Well, if it is reptile safe (and I have no clue), you can dab a little arnica on her stomach to help topically with bruising.
As for possibly hemorraging... I'd recommend loading the hopper with Vit K rich foods (or Vit K supplement). That could help with the clotting. [It works on mammals, but I don't know about reptiles.]
She is so special! If Grace ever needs a home.... ;)

Re: Update on Grace!
Thanks again everyone for all of the support and interest in our little girl. I will definitely keep up the updates, we just missed a couple due to all of the hecticness (is that a word?) from the Tinley show.

Raul,
We did take the stitches out about 10 days ago. I thought I wrote about it in the other thread, but in case I didn't, here's the story. She shed perfectly, about 10 days after the sutures were put in. When she shed, the shed skin tore all of the stitches out of the left side of the wound, and I removed them since they weren't serving a purpose any longer. I was a little concerned since I didn't think it was healed enough, but I guess she pulled through just fine.
p.s. I might have to take a pic of the poop just to make everyone happy, although I must say that it will be the first pile I have put in front of a lens.
