undiscovered morph? we'll see...
some of you may have seen the thread earlier about this guy, but I'm picking him up on thursday and wanted to post some pics.. Tell me what you think!
Info: This was from a CB clutch of two eggs, genetics are unknown and as yet unproven. This male is an '04, 1100g, from a local breeder downsizing due to a new baby. He's never been bred... I'm REALLY hoping he proves out...

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
That is a super cool dinker project if you ever get tired of her call me I got just the place for him. :D

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
I had to beg, borrow, and steal to get the coin together, but I really think he's worth it... Even if he just proves to be an aberrant normal, which I realize I won't know for as long as 3-4 years, he's still a looker...

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
What a sweet dinker!
:sweeet:

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
a question for you guys... if this proves out, what would you call it? I may end up having a poll to democratically elect a name for a new morph, which I think would be a first...

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
Smudge Ball...
Oh and if it does prove genetic. I got dibs on the first visual male you produce. :D

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
Maybe its just me, but it looks like a woma cross.....

I did a little bit of research on this... Based on the Woma pics I was able to find, it's similar but not the same. It's more reduced, and the pattern isn't as "attached" down the back.. Granted, this could be a natural aberration of the woma, or normal, or anything else... I just want to believe it's something different.
-
Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
Super cool, talk about a reduced pattern:cool:. Hope it proves genetic for you:).

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
looks like a cool dinking project!
hope it all works out for you.

Wow that is cool! Not your average dinking project in the least.

Sorry, i didnt mean to rain on anyones parade really! It just looked akin to a womaXspider. Doesnt mean he's any less beautiful!!

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
no worries, I didn't take it that way. I agree, it definitely looks similar... We'll have to breed it out and see what we get... if it is indeed womaXspider we should know next summer...

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
Hey, having a bunch of womas and spiders pip aint bad! ;)
-
Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
If it was a woman/spider mix...wouldn't the original breeder know that? The impression I get is that this guy hatched from two normal parents.
Regardless though, he's totally awesome and I can't wait to hear more reports of his offspring!! Good luck with him!

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
If you find you want another girl to breed him with, let me know. I have two that would love to come visit :sunny:
congrats on picking him up. I was thinking of it but just didnt' have the available cash for it!

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
Looks like a great project, best of luck I would love to hear how it pans out.

He's a beauty, good luck!!

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
as much as i love new morphs......
NERD
i see a striking resemblence..... the reduced pattern may be a new line of woma..... or it could be the picture.... maybe the breeder photoshopped it, the reduced pattern could also be because of the large size of the snake.
im all for proving out a new morph, however id hate to see u get dissapointed after you would put in soo much work into the project. please keep us updated and good luck.

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
That is really hot..! I wonder if it is genetic? Either way you've got a hot snakie there.

you can actually see the womaxspider on the nerd website. Its not a womaspider. But it is for sure a dinker project.... I hope you prove it co-dom so we can see what the homo version looks like. :carrot:

That is really the only reason I said it looks like a woma cross was because it looked a lot like the one on nerds website.
I think with the original pictures, it's still too hard to really get a feel for what the snake looks like. I can wait till he gets some updated pics of him.

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
yeah....what ever he is he's cool
how well do you know the breeder you got him from? i can't believe he never bred that stud muffin?
-
Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
The breeder I got him from is Simon Tang. His goals with BP's are/were very specific, and didn't include this fella.. I believe he's moving on to GTP's now too, and has a new baby on the way..
I should have some new pics this weekend. I'll definitely post them up when I do.

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
Jim,
That is a very nice looking snake. It definitely looks like it has potential. I wish you all the luck I can with proving that guy out. Congrats on the pick up.

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
Looks like a fun project. Bred it to a spider and see what you get..the results might be super cool.

Re: undiscovered morph? we'll see...
The mystery deepens... I got a little more background on this guy today. According to the guy I got him from, who got him from a friend of his, who got him from the person who hatched him, he came from an accidental clutch. The original owner had a large vivarium with several BP's in it, and this clutch was an accident. There were several eggs, but only 2 hatched. Of the two there is this guy, and one that appeared to be a normal. the guy who sold him to me has no idea what was in that vivarium, and contact with the original owner has long since been lost. It could still be something new, or an aberrant normal, or a cross between anything, but this is the back story. Still going to require some breeding to get everything sorted out, for sure...
