Re: Gold Coast Reptiles, Davie, Florida?
hes telling me its normal that the bearded not to eat which i can see cause hes stressed but he flat out told me he didnt know what the babys problem is to keep in contact with him if it doesnt eat in the next day or so.. d*^& it!
thank you for the link, i some how knew this wasnt going to go well.
edit: the place is davie, the person was craig and his girlfriend (forgot her name) we got the baby at flamingo gardens reptile expo and sale.. he was the best looking person in the place.. there were a few other people there but didnt seem to be as knowledgable as these people... they also had a few other nice looking animals there too.. even informed me (when i told him i got a 3wk old crested from another place) they would never sell an animal that young cause there are too many unknowns as to whether or not they would make it.

I wish i could have helped you with this before you made the purchase. But everytime i make a reptile purchase online i check the boi first everytime, unless i've done business with that person before.

Re: Gold Coast Reptiles, Davie, Florida?
All i can tell you now is find a reputable beardie keeper on this forum or other forums and get some advice asap.... So you can get this little guy up to par. Good luck

Re: Gold Coast Reptiles, Davie, Florida?
well, when you know better you do better...
dang it. i feel bad for the hundred other people that bought things yesterday and dont have a resource like this to go to. im hoping my little spartan does alright.. his other option to me was to bring him back and get another one if he doesnt start eating by tomorrow.
edit: i hate the idea of "trading an animal back" i despise that

Re: Gold Coast Reptiles, Davie, Florida?
Well the same thing goes for shows as well. If you plan on attending a show i would get a list of the perspecitve dealers attending and bounce that list off the BOI. I dont expect everyone does this, but its a good idea isnt it.....

i saw these people in person.. hand selected the animal (well husband did) from a group of approx 50 in different "bins" at least now i know grrr
yes, that is a good idea. there is a show coming in nov to ft. lauderdale (near where we live) if nothing else perhaps i can get a list of vendors from the website sponcering the event? were not looking to get anything more right now but if these babies (my crested and bearded) make it then maybe...(or maybe not if they dont) would be one of those wait and see whats there

Well i dont blame you. I wouldnt ever want to see this guy again to tell you the truth so what i would do is try my best to get this guy eating. Get some advice from some top of the line beardie breeders or keepers.

im already a member of www.beardeddragon.org and have been asking many questions there in terms of getting this baby to eat.. any more good sources i should know of? i have gotten another link for healthy dragons already and if i could get the little booger to eat i would be in good shape.
awesome, thank you so much for your help!! i will eat any bad rep or punishment you get for the info being posted here, you might have saved my baby and future animals had this guy pulled through id like to find a breeder and stick with it.

Re: Gold Coast Reptiles, Davie, Florida?
just as an update, the little bearded we had (who we named spartan) did not do well, Craig made good on the deal and offered us a new bearded who we still have to this day. Not only did we get our bearded from them but we have also gotten five ball pythons of various ages and prices and all of them are doing wonderfully. Craig supplies most (90+%) of my feeders and we have yet to have an issue with either him or his girlfriend. Im glad I made the choice to give him a chance and as I said previously in hopes to find a breeder and stick with him/her this is the guy! I go to him for an animal im interested before searching anywhere else, even if he doesnt have what im looking for at the moment i ask he can find it for me within a reasonable amount of time.

Craig Tillem from Gold Coast Reptiles is a great guy and a great breeder. I personally know him and just got me a connection with Reptile industries. He went out of his way to get me in contact with them.
